Yama no Susume: Third Season (Encouragement of the Climb Season 3) Introduction
Aoi and Hinata were friends as children and have once more met again in their youth. Once, they had shared an interest in mountaineering, but Aoi has become introverted and fearful of heights since. Yet when they meet, Hinata helps Aoi to overcome her fears and rediscover a love for mountaineering once more. This is the 3rd season of their friendship!
1. It’s About Friendship
One of the best things about Yama no Susume is the fact that it promotes friendship and getting along with new people while sharing your hobbies. This has been consistent and really shines in season 3 as we really see the friendship between Aoi and Hinata develop. Despite being short in terms of time, these two have their ups and downs, which creates a great story on top of all of the mountaineering that they do.
2. Slice of Life Fun
Of course one of the best things about Yama no Susume is that it’s a slice of life anime. It’s fun and entertaining while still being fairly relaxing to watch and not requiring any big time commitment. You won’t be pulled into the drama, but it’s good enough that you want to keep watching! Sometimes after a long day, you want to be able to watch an anime that doesn’t add stress to your life.
3. Motivation to Get Outside
Something that Yama no Susume does really well is introduce you to the sport of mountaineering, which is a bit more intense than hiking alone. It makes mountaineering shine and look like fun, much like Yuru Camp, so that you are compelled to at least think about going outside. Sometimes, you just need the motivation to go outside and be active!
1. It’s a Short Slice of Life
While we love that Yama no Susume: Third Season is a slice of life that only lasts about 10 minutes, this may bother other people out there that want more plot development or drama in their anime. You just don’t get that sort of thing in such a short, casual anime much like you would in an anime like Harukana Receive or Ballroom e Youkoso. These girls just want to have fun with as minimal drama as possible, which might just bore viewers.
Final Thoughts
This season was not full of many quality anime, but we have to say that we really loved the third season of Yama no Susume. If you are in the mood for a good slice of life with friends and motivation to get you close to going outside, Yama no Susume will do just that. Now, tell us your thoughts.
