3 Fantasy Anime You'll Want to Check Out This Fall 2018 Season

If you’re looking at My Anime List for the fall 2018 anime season—which you should be—you’re probably having a mild panic attack. There are tons and tons of anime launching this coming fall and while some of us have the time to see them all, others might need to mitigate the list slightly. That’s why we’re lessening your load slightly and writing our top 3 anime we’re looking forward to—fantasy in particular—and writing them down so you folks will see if these shows might interest you. Let’s look at the top 3 Fantasy Anime You’ll Want to Check Out This Fall 2018 season!

1. Goblin Slayer

  • Episodes: N/A
  • Aired: Oct 7, 2018

We all love fantasy anime focused on knights slaying creatures of all shapes and sizes, but often these shows can be a bit mundane and overly simple. Luckily, Goblin Slayer—based on the hit light novel series—is ready to launch this October! Goblin Slayer looks to be an amazing adaptation done by studio White Fox—known for Steins;Gate and Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai—with a ton of fantasy elements and some action too boot. If Goblin Slayer is anything like the light novel, we’re going to see some wicked battles with a ton of drama to boot. Get pumped, folks; the trailer is down below and this is a show you’re going to not want to miss.

2. Ulysses: Jehanne D’arc to Renkin no Kishi

  • Episodes: N/A
  • Aired: Oct 7, 2018

Set during the Hundred Years War and loosely following the themes seen during this event, Ulysses: Jehanne D’arc to Renkin no Kishi seems to be preparing us for a fantastical look at some historical based set pieces. With magical girls—some who look to be equipped in more ways than just magic—and some awesome animation from studio AXsiZ, Ulysses: Jehanne D’arc to Renkin no Kishi could be a great fantasy anime you won’t want to sleep on. We left a trailer below that shows off just a small portion of the animation but we’re impressed by what we see to say the least.

3. Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime)

  • Episodes: N/A
  • Aired: Oct 2, 2018

There are many isekai themed fantasy stories out there, but one of the few we’re looking forward to is Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken. This strange tale of a man being bought into a new fantasy world not as a hero but as a slime is weird, strange and very interesting. We read some of the manga for Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken and we’re excited to see what studio 8bit can do with their adaptation. Look forward to the beginning of a slime’s adventure to be a hero in the first week of October 2018!

Hey everyone I’m Aaron Curbelo or Blade as I’m called by my YouTube Subscribers. I’ve been an anime/manga fan since I was a young kid. In terms of anime I have watched nearly a thousand shows and have read hundreds of manga series. I love writing and honestly was so happy to join Honey’s Anime to get a shot to write articles for such a wonderful site. I’m a firm believer in respect in the anime community being the most important embodiment we should all have. We all love anime and we have varying opinions of series but we should respect one another for those differences! Life is too precious to spend it making needless arguments in a community that should be the shining example of loving an amazing medium.
