Try checking out shoujo manhwa, as they follow similar ideas but in a refreshing new way that you might not have experienced before in the shoujo manga realm! This is 3 shoujo manhwa that will wreck you because sometimes, we just need those types of series in our lives.
3. Replay
- Manhwaga: Ryu Riang
- Genres: Drama, Romance, Mystery, Shoujo, Supernatural
- Volumes: 3
- Published: 2002 - 2003
There’s something about Replay that feels a bit off what with the new boarder who happens to be Karam’s new teacher. She feels a strange pull towards him, but actually, she has a boy she likes instead. This manhwa is complicated despite the seemingly cliche plotline. We wouldn’t want to spoil the story, but if you like twists and turns coupled with a little tragedy and drama, Replay is the manhwa for you. And with only 3 volumes, the story breezes right by.
2. 100% Perfect Girl
- Manhwaga: Wann
- Genres: Drama, Romance, Shoujo, Psychological
- Volumes: 11
- Published: August 2006 - November 2009
Romance knows no bounds and even a difference in social class and language will not stop J. Max from pursuing his love, Jay Jin! However, there’s going to be quite a few complications as J. Max leads a complex life while Jay Jin is the kind of person who touches people’s hearts and saves them. This is a love story that transverses cultures, but it’s not going to be an easy love story as you’ll see in its 11 volumes.
1. Daddy Long Legs
- Manhwaga: Do Chan
- Genres: Drama, Romance, Shoujo, Slice of Life, Tragedy
- Volumes: 2
- Published: 2004
Daddy Long Legs is a story that is often romanticized, but you’ll appreciate this Korean take on this classic. Cha Young-Mi may have lost her parents at a young age, but she’s been taken care of by a generous benefactor who has blessed her life greatly, but her benefactor had a tragic love and Cha Young-Mi is going to be the one to make things right!
The plot line may seem very easy to figure out, but it’s a heart warming and rather sad story that will pull at your heartstrings. The ending is sure to catch you off guard, if you aren’t paying attention. Still, Do Chan did a great job with the narrative and creating the story that we left the manhwa feeling satisfied and oh so heart broken as well!
