5 Best Waifus in Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Fire Emblem: Three Houses has 17 lovely ladies who can possibly become your marriage partner, but who among them is truly worthy of the term “waifu”? Who will be by your side as you usher in a new era of peace for Fodlan? We’ve chosen five of our favorites based on their personalities, post-timeskip appearances, and the sheer cuteness of their confession scenes. Let’s get started!

5. Shamir Nevrand

This taciturn mercenary would rather mince enemies than words, so it’s no surprise that her S-support scene is hilariously short and to the point. Once the two of you exchange rings, she’s eager to get back to work instead of dwelling on mushy feelings, but she still loves you in her own stoic way. If you enjoy non-traditional romances and women who won’t take nonsense from anybody, Shamir is the partner for you!

4. Annette Fantine Dominic

Annette is the kind of earnest, hardworking student that any professor would adore. She always tries her best, even though she can be scatterbrained and clumsy when working on something outside her area of expertise (like cooking). Once she grows up, Annette becomes much more confident and embraces her interests without overworking herself. Plus, her confession scene is absolutely adorable – she can’t hold in her happy tears at the idea of spending the rest of her life with you!

3. Edelgard von Hresvelg

Edelgard is a controversial character, to be sure, but she’s one of the most intriguing people in the whole game and drives the second half of the story with her strongly held ideals that come from a past shrouded in mystery. We also love her hair, fashion sense, and voice, all of which evoke a sense of silk hiding steel – this noblewoman may be lovely, but she’ll stop at nothing to create her vision of peace.

2. Marianne von Edmund

Marianne starts out as a shy, wilting flower who doesn’t care whether she lives or dies, but she makes great strides in confidence and self-esteem over the course of the game. Even though she carries a rare Crest that marks her as a bearer of misfortune, she decides to live for herself and pursue her own goals instead of letting herself be married off to a noble for her family’s political gain. We’re so proud of her!

1. Dorothea Arnault

When we first saw this chestnut-haired opera singer in the Black Eagle classroom, we knew immediately that she was best girl material. Dorothea is the only commoner of the group, but she’s determined to secure a future for herself by marrying into riches and pursuing her singing career from there. She’s also unfailingly kind, protecting her friend Ingrid from a dangerous potential suitor and striving for peace even in the midst of war. Dorothea is so pure that we can’t help but love her!

Final Thoughts

We also adore the stalwart knight Ingrid, the precious foreign princess Petra, the doting bishop Mercedes, and all of the other romanceable girls from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. But who are your favorites? Did we miss any of your personal waifus? Let us know in the comments, and thanks so much for reading!

After the hard-hitting East Coast lifestyle hit me a bit too hard, I started pursuing my passion as a writer in my cozy home state of Ohio. Aside from that, I spend my time cooking, cosplaying, collecting anime merch, and being an improv comedy actor. I also love sneaking alliterations and stupid puns into my writing, so be on the lookout for them! 😉
