5 Magic Users in Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu

Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu started out as something we as viewers have come to expect as generic isekai. The main character leaves reality, wakes up in some kind of fantasy new world, cannot leave or log out, has insane powers, and starts to meet girls who are either attracted to him or at least lets him be around them. While the series is rife with shameless fanservice and ecchi moments, it actually, for the most part, does not detract from the series but adds to the humor.

Diablo is beyond overpowered. He’s so strong that he’s convinced people to fear him and that he is the Demon King himself. Meanwhile, he agrees to help Rem get the Demon King out of her, but it is not going to be easy. While he may be cocky, Diablo and other characters showcase a lot of magic throughout the series an so today, rather than a top OP characters, sexy characters, or least-amount-of-clothes-wearing characters, we went with something a bit different as we reflect back on this series. Let’s go.

5. Keera L Greenwood

Keera is more or less a monster of a prince. He somehow manages to get a spell cast on his own sister Sheera in order to not only have her come home, but desert her friends while doing so. Even if it were to cause a war, this arrogant brat is annoying and it makes it all the must sweeter seeing him receive his due justice. Still though, the magic that he casts over Sheera is very powerful and quite remarkable as it troubles the characters for quite a while as they try to break it.

4. Rem

That’s right! Rem over Sheera makes this list. Rem Galeu has a special soul that allows her to keep the real Demon King sealed inside of her. This, coupled with her ability to summon—something not seen frequently enough in the series—makes for a very interesting magical power when it does come out leading to disastrous results. While she may be hunted for what is inside of her, her potential is also astounding.

3. Edelgard

Edelgard is the leader of the demon army. To say that this little one is quite capable, even with her broken language skills, is nothing short of a great feat. She effortlessly takes on Diablo the first time showcasing her powerful magic. True, his counter wipes out a lot of her army, but she still has a massive amount of power that she wields quite well and is able to hold her own later on in the series when she needs to bring all of her armies against the city.

2. Glebsklem

Glebsklem is the Demon King itself sealed in the body of a little girl. She doesn’t seem like much at first, and even Edelgard herself is shocked that this little girl is the fabled demon king, but Glebsklem shows her true colors later when she thinks that Rem is dead. Transforming into a massive dragon, she gives even the most powerful member of this list a very good run for their money. Had they not had the help that they did, Glebsklem might have usurped them and changed the entire flow of the series. Still though, the ability to change, summon powerful rays of damage as well as lay waste to her foes with ease is why Glebsklem is so high on our list.

1. Diablo

Was there ever any doubt that Diablo would be our number one? With his overwhelming amount of power, ability to topple any foe in seconds, as well as the ability to merely play with magic that ends up wasting entire armies, Diablo deserves to be on the top of our list. Diablo is an interesting creature and the powers that he has access to, along with his ring, make him an undefeatable opponent. Sure, his defeat might come later on in the series, but it’s not now and it’s not going to be any time soon. He consistently casted high level magic throughout the series besting anyone and everyone that came his way. Those who did manage to land a hit, like the knights from the church, were immediately punished by his reflect magic thus keeping him more or less impervious. All of the magic that he casted was always a spectacle to behold and made the story all the more interesting. He did have his moments where his MP was drained, but those were disarming and cute. Still, we have to give it to him, he made a great magician character right down to the magical staff he carried.

Final Thoughts

Isekai Maou started as one series and ended as another. We can confidently say that we enjoyed the series and put it beyond average isekai. The magic was top notch and while we would have loved to see more of it and the characters, we will just keep our fingers crossed for a second season. What are your thoughts on the series?
