4. Prison School

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: July 2015 - September 2015

Five male students have been invited to attend a formerly all-girls' school, and all five of them are completely socially inept when it comes to actually speak to girls, however. Excited that someone is into sumo wrestling as much as she is, Chiyo and Kiyoshi end up talking the whole afternoon.

Unable to believe his luck at actually succeeding in talking to a girl, Kiyoshi wasn't paying attention while his fellow male students concocted a plan to peep on the girls taking a bath. The punishment for being caught? All five of them get sentenced by the school's underground student council to spend one month in the school's on-campus prison.

Much like Green Green, Prison School is a hilarious comedy anime about a newly co-ed school starring a cast of horny guys, and both feature main characters that aren't all that interested in being as perverted as their friends.

5. Mashiro-iro Symphony: The Color of Lovers

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: October 2011 - December 2011

When Shingo gets a phone call from his younger sister saying that she's lost, he sets out to try and find her. Meanwhile, Sakuno finds a tree to shelter herself from the rain, and as she waits for her big brother to find her, a friendly girl walking past offers to share her umbrella. Her name is Airi, and she got lost too!

The reason Sakuno got lost in the first place is that their co-ed school is being merged with an all girl's academy as part of a trial run, so she wanted to buy ingredients for a special lunch for their first day. Shingo, Sakuno, and a handful of mostly male students are being integrated due to the lack of funds at their old school, but some of the female students and staff are not happy about this sudden change. The most vocal person being the siblings' new friend, Airi!

Mashiro-iro Symphony is similar to Green Green as both stories involve formerly single-sex schools becoming co-ed as part of a trial run. Also, they both feature a colorful cast, with comedic elements thrown into a story about romance.
