Hataraku Saibou and Gin no Saji share the idea of teaching viewers about the truth of the world around them through a comedic slice of life anime. Gin no Saji is less about scientific teachings and more about agricultural knowledge. While it does contain some knowledge about animal bodily functions, it is less about humanity and more about how we can treat the land well. Gin no Saji also contains actual human characters, rather than anthropomorphized ones. However, the art styles of the two shows are quite similar. And most of all, we believe you will enjoy the humor of Gin no Saji if you are a fan of Hataraku Saibou!

Anime de Wakaru Shinryounaika follows the story of psychologist Ryou and his kindhearted nurse Asuna. Ryou and Asuna explain the struggles of many different parts of mental illness to the audience. Hataraku Saibou and Anime de Wakaru Shinryounaika show how your health works in a humorous light. However, Anime de Wakaru Shinryounaika uses two human characters to explain mental health to you, while Hataraku Saibou shows viewers how their body works in a memorable way. Ryou and Asuna are able to allow their audience to learn while keeping heavy topics lighthearted and entertaining. In many ways, Anime de Wakaru Shinryounaika could be seen as more straightforward than Hataraku Saibou, simply because the former show goes about explaining mental health differently.

Following along with the idea of anthropomorphized characters, Hetalia: Axis Powers gives life to the different nations of the world. Taking place mostly during World War I and World War II, Hetalia makes characters out of the various countries, exploring their relationships with one another. Each character is personified with the things that make them unique, such as Japan being stoic but with strange interests and Italy being airheaded with a love for pasta. Hetalia brings lighthearted comedy to politics and national relations, making us laugh even as we review the world’s past.

Like Hataraku Saibou, Hetalia shares a large amount of ridiculous comedy to lighten the mood. Both of these shows also share similar character design, using their cute, chibi drawings for the funny parts of the show and saving the fine-lined designs for the more serious moments. While Hataraku Saibou has more serious moments with the fighting scenes, Hetalia does allow for a few serious moments of its own. Hetalia, as a whole, features more humor, as Hataraku Saibou spends more time teaching its audience about the human body. We believe both of these shows teach the audience something about the world around them. If you want to learn about political relationships but have fun doing it, Hetalia is a great choice! You will spend just as much time laughing as you will learning.

Hataraku Saibou and Moyashimon are both educational anime that use humor to lighten the mood of each episode. Tadayasu meets plenty of unusual characters during his first year of college, each an anthropomorphized version of some kind of tiny organism. Hataraku Saibou follows this same vein, even creating characters of some of the same creatures, like bacteria. By adding kawaii and chibi designs to these characters of science, each show is able to be more entertaining in the end. If you wanted more ridiculous interactions between people and these invisible organisms, Moyashimon is a great choice!

Ketsukigata-kun! follows the adventures of the four blood types as different characters. Each of the four types embraces their unique stereotypes from Japan and Korea as they go through situations. Despite being faceless, these four characters manage to capture our hearts with their antics! And each time we laugh at how a certain character reacts to something, we are reminded that each person is different, and no one can really be categorized so simply.

Both Hataraku Saibou and Ketsuekigata-kun! revolved around blood as an anthropomorphic character in some fashion. Both shows include plenty of great character moments that bring them to life. In Hataraku Saibou we see the different red and white blood cell types interact with each other in the body, working together to keep everything functioning. Meanwhile, Ketsuekigata-kun! shows off the different blood types of people as a whole, giving them personalities based on stereotypes. The two shows are very different in nature, but use similar chibi designs, as well as similar styles of comedy. We are drawn into both anime despite their strange premises because they are so enjoyable! If you’re a fan of the humor in Hataraku Saibou, you will love Ketsuekigata-kun!

Fighting Foodons and Hataraku Saibou both thrive on their ability to use anthropomorphic characters to add to a story. They both feature battling, though in vastly different settings. These anime may both seem like simple, lighthearted comedies, but both have depth to them in the story they are telling. Both anime also have similar character designs, giving way to the silly antics the characters sometimes get up to. Though Hataraku Saibou is more of an educational anime, Fighting Foodons follows the classic shounen tropes. Yet, if you enjoy Hataraku Saibou, Fighting Foodons is a great choice to follow that anthropomorphic theme!
