Similar Anime to Otona no Bouguya-san / Similar Anime to Armor Shop for Ladies and Gentlemen

1. Bikini Warriors

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: July 2015 - September 2015

Darkness has spread. The world is in ruin. It needs a hero to defeat the threat of evil and save the world. How about four? Sounds good? Great! There’s just one thing, they have a problem getting out of the first city… Mage, Paladin, Fighter, and Dark Elft are a bit unique… they need to get it together is they are even going to start this adventure. Poor, dense, weak, and ill-prepared are what our heroes are… We sure hope they can get it together!

Bikini Warriors is for the ecchi fans of Otona no Bouguya-san. The characters wear clothing that looks like it’s a slight movement away from being in tatters. Needless to say, fanservice is a common theme shared. This also has the fantasy world setup and comes in a short anime format making it easy-to-complete. If you are looking for a bit more, it also has that ridiculous comedy aspect that makes you wonder how it got approved as you click to watch the next episode.

2. Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: October 2015 - December 2015

Mamori Tokonome has a unique name that’s synonymous with “virgin”. She hates it, but that’s about to become the least of her problems. One day, she disappears from school and ends up on an island with the stoic Mirei. It turns out that if Mamori can be turned on, she transforms into a weapon?! Yes, through the power of a kiss, Mamori becomes a weapon that Mirei can fight with. Here on this island called Mermaid Island, Mirei and Mamori have to meet and make friends while fighting off threats. Somehow on this island of depravity, it is their pure connection that will allow them to survive.

Valkyrie Drive is another for those who are here for the ecchi moments. With its over the top ridiculousness, you will be constantly wondering just who funded the show and how they got it approved as you watch. There’s not a whole lot of plot to be enjoyed as the series is geared towards shameless ecchi fanservice. Just be ready for a lot of T&A going into this.

3. Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (Konosuba! God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!)

  • Episodes: 10
  • Aired: January 2016 - March 2016

Konosuba took the world by storm in 2016 when it brought us Kazuma Satou. He dies in a strange manner and ends up in front of a goddess who mocks him before introducing herself as Aqua. She informs him that he has a chance at a life in a fantasy world with some sort of a buff of his choice or he can go right to Heaven. He chooses her, and since Aqua is bound by her word, she is forced into the new world along with him. Kazuma thinks that this is going to be good for him, but it turns out Aqua is an idiot who starts at level 0 along with him. They soon meet a mage who can only cast one spell once a day and a masochist/knight. Somehow, this fantasy life isn’t going how all isekai go…

This is for those fantasy world fans! If you love the fantasy world setting in Otona no Bouguya-san, then you will absolutely love what happens here with this one. Of course, there is some fanservice to be enjoyed as well as Aqua basically runs around with her butt hanging out. Otona no Bouguya-san is the prep for Konosuba really as it feels like it could be a shop within the Konosuba world. Regardless, get ready to laugh and wonder just who thought of the setup of this world as everything seems to pan out incorrectly for our main characters.

4. Senyuu.

  • Episodes: 13
  • Aired: January 2013 - April 2013

Senyuu tells us the story of a demon lord sealed away long ago by a hero named Creasion. Time has moved on and people have forgotten about the past till a portal opens allowing demons to cross back into the human real. The fight to stave them off isn’t going well, so the king of humans decides to summon all the descendants of the legendary hero. Turns out though, there are a lot of them. 75 to be exact. Some show up and some do not. One is Alba accompanied by the knight Ross. It should have been an easy fight but the two have somewhat of a unique relationship. It’s not looking so good for our hero.

Something that fantasy anime loved to do up to Konosuba was parody how ridiculous some stories could be. Senyuu is a lot like Otona no Bouguya-san in that way. You would think you are getting a somewhat straightforward story, but it doesn’t end up that way. Instead you get these hilarious developments each time in a fantasy world that will always go against the flow of common sense.

5. Hundred

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: April 2016 - June 2016

Humanity is under attack by a being not of this world known as “savage.” Humans create weapons to fight back and that is called Hundred. Everyone has an affinity for the technology and Hayato Kisaragi has the highest level in existence. So he is enrolled in Little Garden, a military academy where the best and brightest train to refine their skills. Just it turns out that, the battles are quite intense and there are many girls there too who have interest in him in some way or another. He now trains to fight to protect humanity.

Hundred is another akin to Otona no Bouguya-san in that we get some sort of a story and then we get the actual story when the anime starts. Hundred was 100 percent about fanservice with some semblance of a plot a lot like what happens with Otona no Bouguya-san. You get laughs with the latter and plenty of T&A in the former. While Otona no Bouguya-san doesn’t have the fighting that Hundred does, it’s like a warm up where you get ready for battle in costumes that are equally ridiculous as the ones worn by the characters in Hundred.

6. Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko Ja Nai to Omotta? (And you thought there is never a girl online?)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: April 2016 - June 2016

Hideki, aka Rusian online, has been put through the ringer. He fell in love with a female character from a game once and confessed his feelings. Turns out though, it was an old man playing as a girl the whole time! Crushed, he swears off women online. Too bad for him though, he meets another girl in a new game named Ako. Ako is aggressively in love with Rusian and wants him to marry her. He’s reluctant till he learns that she is a student who goes to his school. After meeting her, he learns that Ako is different in that she cannot distinguish reality from fantasy. His adventure to learn more about her and her classmates, begins.

Netoge no Yome gives you what you crave: ecchi fantasy blended with reality. With copious amounts of fanservice, there are plenty of moments that almost say “gotcha” to you as you see Ako naked or horribly disconnected from reality. It leads to laughs a lot like what Otona no Bouguya-san gives us. Plus there is the whole fantasy world setup as well for a major part of the series. The divergence between the two would be that Netoge has multiple storylines while Otona no Bouguya-san only has one. Still though, it’s worth checking out!
