Byousoku 5 Centimeter and Kimi no na wa are two masterpieces by the same author, and this should work as a guarantee of their similarities. Even if in the first, the supernatural part lacks altogether, both these stories feature the same concept of a romance across distance – physical, emotional. The protagonists' interactions are very similar, and what's more, there's a bittersweet feeling accompanying every page of both these light novels. If you liked Kimi no na wa for its themes of separation and searching, Byousoku 5 Centimeter should be your next step!

It's true that the premises clearly say how Violet Evergarden and Kimi no Na wa have very different plots. Yet, the reason why Violet Evergarden is on this list is right because it shares with Kimi no na wa the most essential trait. In fact, you'll find in it the same emotional storytelling, a bittersweet atmosphere able to both make the readers shed tears, or laugh, and an interesting plot able to suck the readers in. Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki and Kimi no na wa are both heartfelt light novels sending the readers on a roller-coaster of feels and making them shed tears. Although different in their plots, these two stories share a good characterization, in-depth analysis of the characters, and light fantasy and Sci-Fi elements. It's not a stretch to say that if you enjoyed one, you'll end up enjoying the other all the same!

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora and Kimi no na wa share a sad romance which may not be meant to be. Two people end up bonding, getting to know each other step by step, but when love blossoms the reality strikes hard. While reading Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, you'll get the same atmospheres you had while reading Kimi no na wa. These two stories share a good characters' development, and bittersweet vibes as the readers begin to understand what the outcome will be. For Hanbun, too, prepare some tissues!
