Welcome back to another character breakdown for My Hero One’s Justice! The next character on the list will be another villain, and this time it’s Dabi! Now Dabi is a pretty unique character in the series because he’s perhaps one of the few characters similar to Toga, whose playstyle typically functions around heavy zoning, and doesn’t require being in your face in order to win the match. Cremation, his quirk, grants him the ability to emit blue flames from his body, igniting anything that it touches. In My Hero One’s Justice, these blue flames are a real pain to deal with if you aren’t careful... but fortunately, with enough timing and practice you’ll be able to overcome Dabi’s long ranged oppression with ease. Let’s get into more details about Dabi regarding his overall playstyle, his favorite sidekicks, and other tidbits that will help you to become the number one hero!
In My Hero One’s Justice, Dabi’s playstyle is quite contrasting since the game is all about rushdown and offense, while he focuses heavily on trying to keep the opponent at bay with his Cremation quirk. While Dabi can hold his own up close and deal devastating damage with his combos, he excels at annoying the enemy by creating a wall of blue flames everywhere on screen, and for you to find a way through. One of his abilities allows him to create an orb of blue flames which hovers in front of him, but with the press of the triangle button it tracks your every move. This is a very potent attack as it helps to keep anyway any opponent who thinks they can rush you down for free, thus keeping them in check at all times. Its homing attribute can also work as a way for you to inch yourself closer towards the enemy, to throw them off guard and go for a combo.
In short, Dabi is like a setplay character, meaning that his game plan is to distract you with all of his Cremation attacks and once he lands the hit, he can set you up for pain and suffering after a knockdown. His blue flame orb is very strong anywhere on screen and is very safe to throw out, but one move to look out for is the long reaching blue flame blast, since it leaves him vulnerable and you can punish him severely if the player spams it. If you’re clever though, this move can really help to maintain that long range pressure and keep the enemy at bay long enough for you to think of your next strategy.
Dabi’s Preferred Sidekicks
Since Dabi likes to keep his distance and wait for his opponent to lose their patience, throwing Aizawa on your team to lock them down is going to really benefit Dabi’s overall approach. If the opponent tries to be clever and invade your personal space, just call Aizawa out to grab them with his scarf while you unleash a load of damage to remind them not to act carelessly. Denki’s electric traps also work brilliantly with Dabi since it travels a long distance much like Dabi’s moves, and if the opponent runs into it then they’re left paralyzed with no other option but to desperately call their sidekicks for help (if they have the meter, that is!).
Fumikage can also be of great service to Dabi as his sidekick ability helps as more of a defensive approach, knocking opponents back if they try to engage you haphazardly. Kirishima’s sidekick ability is also very strong since it can be used both offensively and defensively, giving you the advantage in both areas. The latest DLC character, Endeavor, is also a great pick because of his powerful long range strikes that send the opponent flying back. Experiment with these suggestions and see which ones work out for you!
Out of all the characters, we actually love playing with Dabi the most because of his strong keep away game and stylish defensive pressure. His plus ultra is pretty cool to watch with all of these blue flames engulfing the enemy, and it’s just so satisfying to punish impatient players. We hope you found this breakdown to be insightful and give you the confidence needed to become the number one hero online! Next up is Toga!
