Discussion Time

Boku no Hero Academia chapter 249 continued by showing our young heroes still struggling to best Endeavor’s challenge. Despite how close they’ve come, Endeavor continues to come out on the top each time. Despite losing, Endeavor screams for them to go and we end up at his house for dinner…weird transition but funny nonetheless. Shoto’s sister Fuyumi greets our guests and a big dinner is held for Deku, Shoto, Bakugo, Endeavor and a fifth man who just so happens to be Natsu, Shoto’s brother.

We’ve seen some awkward dinners in manga history before but chapter 249 of Boku no Hero Academia might have the most awkward dinner scene ever with tensions running high. Endeavor’s past clearly has wrecked this family beyond words and despite Natsu’s originally calm demeanor, he ends up leaving the table annoyed by the situation. We learn that Shoto is getting closer to understanding his mom’s situation and forgiving her—Bakugo isn’t too happy to hear the family’s past as he screams out in one panel comically—but Deku chimes in with an interesting thought. From what we’ve seen in Shoto as of late, it seems he’s indeed forgiving his father slowly. Then Boku no Hero Academia chapter 249 pulls a big surprise, one that will no doubt cause some discussions. Endeavor walks to a room with what looks like an offering and sits in front of a memorial for what could be a third son, Toya! Is Toya’s death the reason Endeavor became the way he did? Why did Toya die at what looks like a very young age? So many questions are brewing in our minds here at Honey’s Anime but we can only speculate the answers. Now we’ll have to wait for chapter 250 of Boku no Hero Academia for more revelations but until then, let’s talk about our favorite moments from chapter 249!

Why You Should Read Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) Chapter 249

1. A Hilariously Awkward Dinner

As awkward as that dinner was in chapter 249 of Boku no Hero Academia, you can’t lie and say it wasn’t somewhat funny. From Bakugo being angry at learning more about Shoto to Deku trying to explain why Fuyumi’s food was good the laughs and award moments of this dinner were almost even with one another. We truly want to nominate Boku no Hero Academia with the most awkward dinner in a manga prize…we think it would win hands down.

2. Who is Toya

The last four panels for Boku no Hero Academia chapter 249 were the most interesting hands down. We see Endeavor offer a prayer to a child he knows as Toya. We see Endeavor for the first time truly seem sad and worried for his broken family and we wonder…was it because of Toya’s passing? This is going to be a big moment for Endeavor’s character in Boku no Hero Academia and we can’t wait to see how it unfolds!

Final Thoughts

Boku no Hero Academia chapter 249 was a lot of emotions crammed into 15 pages. We had a hilariously awkward dinner and we learn a bit more about Shoto’s growth as he begins to forgive his parents. The big surprise though is the last panels which reveal a deceased child by the name of Toya. Who Toya is and how he perished is unknown to us but we have faith Boku no Hero Academia will let us know more about this story in upcoming chapters! Till then comment below with some discussions! Is Endeavor a character to be pitied and not disliked? Can Endeavor be forgiven for destroying his family? These are just a few possible discussions you guys can have down below!
