Discussion Time
We have to hand it to Boku no Hero Academia. Every time we think there is no way we can be more surprised by a new plot development… we end up quite wrong. Chapter 253 started off rather comically as our young heroes in training all are back to class with new strengths and even some new attitudes. Who didn’t laugh with Tenya Iida and his weird new personality that counters his usual stiff serious one? The laughs come to a bit of a halt, though, when Aizawa and Yamada are told to head out on “urgent business”. The strange duo ends up at the prison where they meet Naomasa and Gran Torino to relearn about Nomus.
While Aizawa clearly feels this is unnecessary and is just padding for time, we then learn about an old friend the duo knew from their school days at UA and while they believed him to be dead, Noamasa believes that Oboro Shirakumo is indeed alive and somehow might be their captive…Kurogiri! Yes, our 253rd chapter of Boku no Hero Academia has finally revealed who Kurogiri might actually be!
Folks, what do you think will happen with this newfound information? Can our pro heroes rescue Kurogiri from his twisted fate or did he choose to become this entity of his own volition? Our theories are piling up here at Honey’s Anime but while we chew on them, let us continue with some reasons you should read this revealing chapter of Boku no Hero Academia!
1. Class is in Session Again!
With the work studies done for the time being, it was refreshing to see our training heroes back in the UA dorms! More hijinks are bound to happen with each hero having grown significantly but will the laughs continue when the villains begin their move?
2. His Name is Oboro Shirakumo?!
Kurogiri has truly been as mystifying as his strange fog-like face in Boku no Hero Academia. Finally, though, we have a name to possibly put to the…face? Oboro Shirakumo who apparently was a classmate/friend to Aizawa and Yamada in their UA school days might not be one of the beginning powers for the League of Villains. What will the heroes do with this new information and is there a way to save an old friend in the process?
Final Thoughts
Boku no Hero Academia has left us with a bombshell to dwell on while we wait for chapter 254. Kurogiri has a name—and a past—which can truly change the tale for our heroes in their understanding of the Nomu’s creation and possibly who makes them. Add to that, maybe Kurogiri wasn’t a villain initially but crafted into one like the Nomu are!
We have so many theories on what could have happened to Oboro Shirakumo but we’ve spoken enough. How do you think Kurogiri came to be? Comment below with some thoughts and we’ll discuss them with you later and see if their right in the next chapter!
