No matter what school you attend—whether it’s for heroes or regular people—the point of school is to advance and become better. Well, folks, it seems our young heroes are indeed advancing and it makes our hearts happy. Chapter 256 of Boku no Hero Academia is all about showing off our young warriors as they show All-Might their upgraded abilities and to his amazement, they aren’t small upgrades but big ones! Despite their troubles at their respected hero agencies, our heroes are learning more about their own skills and how to hone their Quirks in new ways! All-Might truly is amazed by Deku, though, as he’s showing powers that are going even beyond his own in many ways. They all still have more maturing to do but the future looks bright!
Meanwhile, Erasher Head and his loud “friend” Present Mic are down about the realization that Nomu aren’t just simply created beings as they thought previously. The duo doesn’t have long to ponder their thoughts as Mirio and Tamaki burst in to tell them Eri’s horn seems to be having a strange reaction. What this reaction exactly is we have ideas on but don’t learn much from the sudden announcement. Our chapter ends with Deku, Bakugo, and All-Might in a break room with Deku being given a notebook. From what we can guess, this book might have notes on past users of One For All and if that is the case, Deku is about to get ten times stronger! We didn’t see a lot of villain appearances in this chapter but here are a few reasons why skipping out on chapter 256 would be a mistake!
1. Growth
Our young wannabe heroes might not be graduates of UA yet but their skills are certainly graduating to new levels! Even our naval Quirk Shining Hero has acquired the ability to make a naval sword…sounds weird but it’s something at least. Bottom line, our heroes are growing and this should make surviving the upcoming battles a bit easier.
2. Notebook of the Past
The last scene of chapter 256 is easily the biggest one as All-Might hands Deku a book filled with, most likely, past users of One for All! Deku is easily the smartest UA student so having this notebook should help him advance his skills to limits that could surpass All-Might! We can’t wait to see what that book contains in upcoming chapters!
Final Thoughts
Boku no Hero Academia 256 showed what it means to grow. Our young heroes are all making big strides to better their Quirks and that will ultimately make them stronger Pro Heroes! But two new questions have arisen in this 256th chapter. What is happening to Eri’s horn and what really is contained in that book All-Might gave to Deku? The wait is going to kill us Boku no Hero Academia fans but we must endure!
