Discussion Time

In this series, the main hero is Leonis Death Magnus, the demon king. Yeah, you read that right. The supposed bad guy is the hero in this story. But since he’s the strongest threat and enemy in humankind, the great heroes have cornered him, causing him to be sealed for a thousand years. He is then saved from being sealed by two people. Unfortunately, not a brother and a sister, but two people nonetheless. He originally sealed himself to prepare for the upcoming battle but found that things have pretty much changed, so he is forced to enroll at the academy.

Why You Should Read The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy

1. The Writing is Absolute Mastery

Not even delving in yet with the content, the form in itself is already pure madness. The descriptions are very vivid and clear. There are also no awkward phrasings nor abrupt stopping. The sentences just flow right after the other. In addition to that, the novel used vast vocabulary, avoiding repetition and redundancy. Nevertheless, reading it has given us a very clear picture of what the author is trying to paint. An absolute masterpiece.

2. Dashing Art in Betweens

The cool thing about this series, at least the first volume, is that it has an illustrator, Asaki Tosaka. That means that there are amazing artworks to be expected. True enough, there is a lot of manga-esque art to drool over. Imagine reading a wall of text, then a cool artwork suddenly pops up. Now, that’s what you call a pleasant surprise. It also serves as a good bookmark and toilet break.

3. Funny Young Kid Trying To Look Tough

Since Leonis is technically more than a millennium old and one of the strongest beings in the existence of this universe, he holds the right to act tough a bit. Well, that should be the case, but it just doesn’t give the right image given that he is now using the body of a ten-year-old. Just imagine your little brother doing some heavy boasting and acting like the boss around the house. It’s both hilarious and pathetic regardless of whether or not he can back it up.

Final Thoughts

If it’s entertainment you’re looking for, then The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy got you covered. If you’re looking for more, then The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy still got you covered. The writing, content, and art are absolutely amazing. What we’re basically trying to say is that this series is worth buying and has us craving for more volumes. Fingers crossed that we’ll get them sooner, rather than later.

Manga and anime were big parts of my childhood. I grew up watching Yu Yu Hakusho, Slam Dunk, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z. Those were probably one of the happiest and most carefree days of my life. In fact, most of my values are probably molded by manga. No, that's not an exaggeration.
