Yeah! Fans of series like Udon no Kuni and Barakamon will be in love with this.

Does this mean fans of Beezelbub will like this too?

Hmmm that might be stretching it. While he does take care of the baby in Beezelbub, this will not have as much comedy. It will have some, but probably nothing like that. This is shoujo to the max with some giggles along the way.

Synopsis

Ryuuichi and Koutarou are two brothers who lost both of their parents in a plane accident. The individual who comes to take care of the both of them is none other than the board chairwoman of Morinomiya Academy! She lost both her son and his wife in the same plane accident.

However! One of the conditions for his guardianship is that Ryuuichi works as a babysitter at the nursery within the academy. The nursery was established for the mothers who are teachers there. Ryuuichi now is to become the very first member of the “Babysitters Club” which was created to compensate for the lack of help…!?

Three Episode Impression

There appear to be a lot of anime about little kids this season and while I cannot stand anime like Mitsuboshi Colors, Gakuen Babysitters is a cute one. It’s about kids, but it doesn’t feel childish like Mitsuboshi Colors does. It doesn’t remind me of what it feels like to be around children, which I think is a good sign hahaha. Anyway, I think Gakuen Babysitters is cute and reminds me of series like Aishiteruze Baby and Usagi Drop. There’s an underlying sad part to the plot, but it’s often overshadowed by the cute kids. However, you still sometimes get those sad moments when our main characters realize just how new their situation is. I really hope to see that old lady that adopted them to have some real influence in their lives.

Ryuuichi Kashima

Voice Actor: Koutarou Nishiyama

Ryuuichi was taken in by the board chairwoman of Morinomiya Academy after both he and his younger brother Kotarou lost their parents in an accident. In exchange for being taken in and looked after, he now has to work as a member of the Babysitters Club and help out in the nursery. He is pure and dependable.

Kotarou Kashima

Voice Actor: Nozomi Furuki

Kotarou is Ryuuichi’s younger brother. Quiet, he enjoys reading picture books. He is not very expressive, so no one really knows what he is thinking. He loves Ryuuichi.

Hayato Kamitani

Voice Actor: Yuuichirou Umehara

Hayato is a classmate of Ryuuichi’s, the older brother of Taka, and the ace of the baseball team. He seems and speaks in a rather blunt manner, but he does not put up with Taka being childish. However, he has a straightforward personality and can be quite emotional.

Taka Kamitani

Voice Actor: Yuuko Sanpei

Taka is the biggest crybaby in the nursery. He rebels against his older brother Hayato frequently, but he loves him.

Yoshihito Usaida

Voice Actor: Tomoaki Maeno

Yoshihito is a graduate of Morinomiya Academy and is the only employee of the nursery. He enjoys being lethargic and frequently likes to take naps, but the children are emotionally attached to him.

Keigo Saikawa

Voice Actor: Daisuke Ono

Keigo is the mysterious secretary for the board chairwoman. Proficient at all household chores, he has a cool manner in which he accomplishes everything, but he has an extremely gentle personality and can be quite funny.

Kirin Kumatsuka

Voice Actor: Konomi Kohara

Kirin is an ever-so-slightly precocious child who is brimming with curiosity. She loves how gentle her mother is.

Takuma Mamizuka

Voice Actor: Ayaka Saitou

Takuma is the older twin brother of Kazuma. He is like his mother in that he is upbeat and always smiling. He is always with Kazuma.

Kazuma Mamizuka

Voice Actor: Atsumi Tanezaki

Kazuma is the younger brother of Takuma. Just his father, he is timid and teary-eyed. He is always with Takuma.
