Time moves on however, and we are now in the current era. Here live your average high school student, Mangetsu Kohinata, and Shingetsu Ernesta Fukami, a girl toyed with by history itself. One night, when the full moon appears extremely large, the two meet. The girls then decide to learn the secrets of the world of magic and the magical dolls Almanox.

Mangetsu is your average high school girl you could find anywhere. Ask her to do anything and you will get an immediate response. That’s how she works, but she doesn’t view it as a burden. She’s not good at studying nor sports, but she seems to get along alright with her classmates. However, at the same time, she has this desire to learn how to do something that others can’t and feels as if she cannot do anything unique herself.

Shingetsu Ernesta Fukami

Shingetsu is a young girl who lived in Japan when she was younger, and she has just moved back after living in Germany. She gives off a very quiet vibe however she has this frank tone she can speak with, but she isn’t being malicious. She’s great at looking after others and when dealing with Mangetsu who is at a loss as to what to do, Shingetsu helps her out and thus begins to spend time with her.

Anna Hugo

Voice Actor: Hikasa Youko

Anna is the daughter of the famous Hugo family and was enrolled in special education for gifted children due to being the heir. She works hard to meet the expectations of those around her, and in order to take over for the family, she continues to undergo intensive training. A hard worker, her confidence in herself is backed up by her talents and achievements. She appears to be some sort of old friend to Shingetsu, but...

Nene Hayashi

Voice Actor: Yurika Kubo

Nene is Mangetsu’s classmate and dreams of becoming her little sister. She has two younger sisters that live in Hong Kong and they call her ‘Nene-nee’. She has her own reason for leaving her sisters behind and moving to Japan. She behaves and speaks like a grown-up and will often exclaim ‘I’m the adult here!’. However, she's quite clumsy in her daily life and those around her tend to look after her with a warm, pleasant smile.

Suishou Hakamada

Voice Actor: Aoi Yuuki

Suishou is one of Anna’s disciples that works for the Hugo family. She’s always smiling with whatever she does and no one can ever tell if she’s serious or not when she toys with those around her. She appears to be quite worldly and somehow manages to always avoid scoldings from Anna, but Rosa seems to be the one who ends up being on the receiving end of Suishou’s scoldings.

Rosa

Voice Actor: Chinatsu Akasaki

Rosa is one of Anna’s disciples that works for the Hugo family. She doesn’t think highly of Anna’s overbearing attitude because of their differences in upbringings, and complains about everything often. While she is part of a pair with Suishou, unlike her, Rosa has a direct personality, and, while she’s not sure if it’s why, Rosa often gets the short end of the stick.
