Gurazeni-300x450 Baseball Anime Gurazeni Reveals Honey's Highlights
Wow, another baseball anime? Sounds good to me! This was clearly made for middle-aged baseball fans.

Hahaha I am glad I am not the only one! I thought it was going to be just like Kochi Kame or Girls und Panzer where it ends up with an overwhelming amount of middle-aged men. Hearing you say that makes total sense. There is even a character based on a real baseball commentator!

I think if you like baseball or you like dad-jokes, then in some way, this baseball anime about a dude obsessed with money will entertain you.

Synopsis

Natsunosuke Bonda, 26, single, is a left-handed mid-relief & sidearm pitcher belonging to the professional baseball team the Jingu Spiders. He became a professional right out of high school and his annual income is 18 million yen (~$169,000). He’s a player who is never going to be referred to as a ‘top tier pitcher.’

‘I don’t know how long I can keep this up after I turn 30.’
‘Only a handful of those who retire become coaches or commentators.’
‘Some people fail to make more than 1 million yen (~$9300) a year after they’ve retired .’
‘Pro baseball players have to save up their earnings now while they can!’

As he stares down the harsh reality facing him, he utters a certain phrase over and over.

‘There’s money buried under the pitchers mound!’

Today too, Bonda stands on the pitchers mound and dreams of ‘Gurazeni’ (ground money) !
