Synopsis

Sesshoumaru’s daughter, Towa Higurashi, who was raised in the modern world, returns to the Sengoku period, looking for the Dream Butterfly to restore her twin sister Setsuna’s memory. The Beast King Kirinmaru’s older sister Zero is thought to have some kind of connection to the Dream Butterfly and is plotting Towa’s demise. She despises half-demons as it is prophesied that one will kill her younger brother.

Towa and Setsuna are both half-demons. Their father is the Great Demon Sesshoumaru and their mother is a human named Rin. Moroha, who also becomes friends with them, is Inuyasha and Kagome’s quarter-demon daughter. Fourteen years ago, Zero sought to kill Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha right after they were born, but they were able to elude her. Towa was sent to the modern age, Setsuna went to live in a half-demon village, and Moroha was protected by the Wolf-Demon Tribe. Inuyasha and Kagome were dragged into the battle against Kirinmaru and were sent inside the Black Pearl where Toga’s (Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha’s father) tomb is hidden.

Towa and Moroha confront Kirinmaru and display incredible power despite not being full-blooded demons and Kirinmaru doesn’t hold back either. However, Setsuna is killed by Kirinmaru in the fight. Then, Sesshoumaru appears in front of Towa, who is filled with deep regret, and hands her Tenseiga, the Sword of Healing which can save the lives of a hundred beings in one swing, asking if she wants to test it out. However, it is broken.

What can be done with a broken Tenseiga? Can it bring Setsuna back to life? Towa contemplates the answers to these questions as the rain washes over her.

Towa Higurashi: Sara Matsumoto

A modern-day child living in the Reiwa period. A 14-year-old middle school student. 10 years ago, she traveled through time through the tunnel of the Jidaiju. Kagome's brother, Souta, helps her and was brought up as his daughter. She is a talented martial artist, and gets in fights with the delinquents which leads to her transferring schools repeatedly. Now, she goes to Saint Gabriel Academy, which is a girls' school. On meeting with Setsuna and Moroha, who also came to the modern age, she tries to return to the Sengoku period to get back Setsuna's sleep. Her boyish clothes are for fighting. She is actually the daughter of Sesshomaru who is living in the Sengoku period.

Setsuna: Mikako Komatsu

A 14-year-old girl. She makes a living by killing youkai under Kohaku, who is the head of the youkai extermination. She was separated from her twin sister, Towa, at the age of 4. 10 years later, she travels to the modern age along with Moroha, and reunites with Towa. However, she has no memory of her childhood since her sleep was stolen by the butterfly of dream. She doesn't believe that Towa is her older sister. Along with Towa and Moroha, who try to get back Setsuna's sleep, she travels back to the Sengoku period, but... Her calm and collected nature probably comes from her father, Sesshomaru.

Moroha: Azusa Tadokoro

A 14-year-old bounty hunter. She sells the youkai she has slain (their heads and body parts) to Shikabaneya Juubee, who deals with youkai with bounties. Her sword is the cursed sword Kurikaramaru. She goes by the name of "Moroha the Youkai Slayer". By using the lipstick in the clamshell with a red pearl on it, she turns into "Kunikuzushi no Beniyasha" and goes berserk. She is cheerful and openhearted, and knows much of the world compared to Towa and Setsuna. She is actually the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, but doesn't know much about them because she lived on her own since she was a child.

Kohaku: Ryohei Kimura

Hisui’s uncle. He’s the leader of the youkai exterminators. When he was a child, he was by Sesshoumaru’s side. He welcomed Setsuna into the youkai exterminators.

Hisui: Takehiro Urao

Miroku and Sango’s son. He teams up with Setsuna and Towa to exterminate youkai. He wields Hiraikotsu, a giant boomerang that his mother Sango used to use.

Kirara:

A nekomata, a mythical two-tailed cat that is very attached to Kohaku. Usually she’s the size of a kitten, but she is capable of transforming into a saber-toothed cat form, which is large enough to carry people. She can also fly.

Sesshoumaru: Ken Narita

Inuyasha’s half brother. He’s a full youkai who is prideful and ruthless. He wields Bakusaiga, his own demon sword, and Tenseiga, a demon sword forged from his father’s fang.

Rion: Saki Fujita

A daughter of Kirinmaru. She has been sealed in the Musubiyama Mountain for 600 years. Her fate starts to change greatly after meeting Yashahime.
