This is P.A. Works. They did Tenrou Sirius the Jaeger last season. The art was beautiful.

Yeah but this art reminds me of Kimi no Na wa, Violet Evergarden, and Nagi no Asu kara. I MUST watch this.

The backstory of the main character not being able to see colors and being dejected sounds a lot like Chise from Mahoutsukai no Yome. Plus the series has magic? You better believe that we are ALL going to be watching this one.

Synopsis

Several decades ago in Nagasaki. In this slightly strange world, just a little bit of magic lingers.

Hitomi Tsukishiro is 17 years old, and the descendant of a clan of sorcerers. At a young age, she lost the ability to see colours, and became an emotionless girl.

Worried about Hitomi’s future, her grandmother Kohaku, a great sorceress, uses her magic to send Hitomi to 2018.

Suddenly arriving in this unknown place, the bewildered Hitomi realises she can see intensely vivid colours…

Three Episode Impression

Hitomi cannot see colors which is something that almost everyone can do. Sadly though, she went colorblind and cannot see magic as a result when she was young. Her grandmother decides to give her a gift and sends her back to when she was a little girl to help her understand more. Hitomi wakes up in the past, somehow convinces her ancestors to believe her, and of course, her grandmother isn’t even there! So, Hitomi attempts to adjust to life there while she waits for her grandmother to come back. She enrolls in school and manages to meet members of a photography club. Then she happens to see member Yuito drawing something one day, and suddenly, she can see the colors in his image. She is so shocked that she wants to see more. She joins the club in order to learn more.

The best part? The grandmother hasn’t even come back yet at the end of Episode 3. The anime is very pretty and P.A. Works has done a good job again. The story is a bit slow, so if you aren’t looking for a slow, fanciful romance, then steer clear. If you want to see a main character who has shut herself off from the world, more or less due to her disability, return to a happy life with the help of time travel and new friends, then press on. It’s going to be a heartwarming anime for sure.

Voice Actor: Kaori Ishihara

Hitomi is a second-year high school student. She has magic in her blood, but cannot use it, so she has always avoided magic. She lost the ability to see colors when she was young, and before she realized it, Hitomi closed her heart off to others. One day, due to time magic used by her grandmother, she is sent back in time 60 years in the past to when her grandmother was a high school student.
