- The official Twitter for the upcoming movie "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" released a trailer and announced the casting for Yuta Okkotsu, the protagonist. Megumi Ogata, famous for voicing Shinji Ikari (Neon Genesis Evangelion), will be voicing Yuta. The original creator Gege Akutami commented that she's a perfect fit for voicing Yuta, as Gege imagines Yuta as an androgynous and kind figure who has big mood swings at the same time.
- The new trailer unveiled Yuta's voice, the visual of Yuta's deceased best friend Rika, and a ring that signifies the relationship between Yuta and Rika. The trailer also features Yuta promising to confront Rika's curse.
- Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Synopsis: When Yuuta Okkotsu was a child, he lost his best friend Rika, who he had promised to marry, in a car accident. Since then, Rika's monstrous ghost follows Yuuta everywhere and hurts those around him so he wishes to be isolated so as to prevent others from being hurt. However, when Satoru Gojo captures him during an incident, he tells him to enroll in Jujutsu High School where he can learn to control Rika to help people instead.
Yuuta then begins his studies Jujutsu sorcerer studies along with weapons expert Maki Zenin, unique spellcaster Toge Inumaki, and Panda, a talking panda bear. Yuuta then realizes there's more to the world of Jujutsu sorcerers than just evil spirits.
*Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was the protoype of what became Jujutsu Kaisen as we know it now. The designs were then adapted and some even switched to other characters. This movie will reflect all the original deisgns from Gege Akutagawa. - Jujutsu Kaisen 0 comes out on December 24, 2021, on Christmas Eve! Find out more in our anime chart page:
