Kaguya is one of the main characters of this story and her birthday is January 1st. She is the Vice President for the Student Council of Shuchiin Academy and a second-year high school student. She’s very pretty and is the only young daughter of the Shinomiya group’s head, one of the four big industries. She’s an all-around genius and has lived a hardcore, sheltered life. Due to this, she is very ignorant about how the world works at times. Kaguya looks down on those who aren’t smart and sometimes plots to use them. Cat ears suit her. She wants to confess her feelings to Miyuki Shirogane.

Miyuki is one of the main characters of the story and his birthday is September 9th. He is the President for the Student Council of Shuchiin Academy and a second-year high school student. Miyuki has poor judgement. He lives with his father and his younger sister, Kei, a student at Shuchiin Academy’s middle school division. He’s a genius when it comes to hard work, to the point that he can become obsessed with it. He studies for 10 hours a day without fail, and is also devoted to his part-time job. Cat ears suit him and he wants to confess his feelings to Kaguya Shinomiya.

Chika is the heroine of this story and her birthday is March 3rd. She is the secretary for the Student Council of Shuchiin Academy and a second-year high school student. She is the daughter of a politician and has been friends with Kaguya since they were in middle school. As a kind-hearted girl, she is dragged into Miyuki’s special training in order for him to overcome his flaws, leaving her very busy. When they are playing a game, she sometimes tries to trick the others, however, her plans are always foiled.

Yuu is a false protagonist in this story and his birthday is March 3rd. He is the treasurer for the Student Council of Shuchiin Academy and a first-year high school student. Yuu has a gloomy hairstyle with bangs. He is the second son of a small toy company and handles their accounting as well. After graduating from middle school and heading on to high school, he was scouted by Miyuki and joined the Student Council. He is very perceptive, but this can sometimes lead to him imagining things, creating a landmine.

A semi-heroine of the series. Born on May 5th. A short first-year student, she is top of her grade and serves as Shuchiin Academy’s Student Council auditor. Her father is a judge in the Supreme Court, and she is also a member of the Public Morals Committee. Stubborn, inflexible, and serious to a fault, she is unwilling to overlook any infraction. She has been learning the piano since she was a child and idolizes Chika Fujiwara, whom she met at a contest.

Ai is an attendant of Kaguya Shinomiya. She is a second-year high school student and a quarter Irish. Born to a family that swore fealty to the Shinomiya family ages ago, she has served Kaguya since she was a little girl. As such, she thinks of Kaguya as her de-facto sister. Depending on the situation at the academy, she can either pose as a gyaru or maid, and sometimes, she simply poses as a female student named ‘Haasaka’.
