Forged at the end of the Tokugawa shogunate by swordsmith Kanesada, he is a Japanese sword who was also loved by the vice-commander of the Shinsengumi, Toshizou Hijikata. Excelling in both the looks and skills department, his downfall is that he has a short temper.

Yoshiyuki is known as Ryouma Sakamoto’s favorite Japanese sword. Honest, Cheerful, and liking new things, he treasures forward-thinking. He thinks that swords are outdated, so in actual fights, he uses a pistol with a sword to fight.

Kunihiro is a short sword forged in the Azuchi-Momoyama period by Kunihiro Horikawa. It is said that he was the favorite of the vice-commander of the Shinsengumi, Toshizou Hijikata. He is both the partner and assistant to Kanesada Izuminokami. Kunihiro was recently manifested as a touken danshi and this is his first time in a group.

Toushirou is a dagger forged by Yoshimitsu Awataguchi. The name Yagen comes from the reputation it had that it was extraordinarily sharp enough to slice a druggist’s mortar, but it would never cut its owner. Cool, calm, and collected, this touken danshi has a long history of dedication to his missions.

Tonbokiri is a spear forged under the school of Muramasa by Masazane Fujiwara. He is extolled as one of the Three Great Spears of Japan. The origin of his name is that it is so sharp, that a dragonfly once landed on it and was sliced in half immediately. Simple and sincere, he was often dispatched to the front lines of the Sengoku period.

A longsword forged by swordsmith Gojou Kuninaga from the Heian period, his characteristic is that his white clothing gives off the impression of a crane. In contrast to his elegant exterior, his personality is witty and eccentric. Among the members of his group, he has bountiful experience as a touken danshi.

Saniwa is the owner who controls the touken danshi. Having the power to move the hearts and minds of others, he dispatches the touken danshi, who are going against the flow of time to protect history, to the front lines.

Konnosuke acts with the touken danshi and is a kuda fox who supports the boys on their missions.
