Since ancient times, “kemono” (monsters) have been secretly living alongside humans, interacting with them without revealing their identities. Most of them have adapted to the human world and mix freely in society. However, in modern times, there have been many cases of kemono overstepping their bounds.
Inugami, a detective who specializes in the occult, visits a village in the countryside to investigate a mysterious incident caused by one of these kemono. There, he encounters a boy named Kabane Kusaka...

Runs a detective agency that specializes in monsters and the occult. He is secretly a shape-shifting tanuki.
