Synopsis
In the spring of their third year as high school students, Shinobu and her friends set off on a school trip to Nara and Kyoto. It’s their first overnight school trip, so everyone is super excited!
Shinobu is disappointed that the trip isn’t to England, but Alice is delighted for the chance to experience traditional Japanese culture. Aya is keen to gossip about their love lives all night, Yoko is busy making wisecracks, and Karen is always with them despite being in a different class...?
Ms. Karasuma and Ms. Kuzehashi, the teachers in charge of the trip, Honoka, who has a crush on Karen, and Honoka’s clubmate Kana are also there, making for a great time!
And finally, after the trip, everyone needs to start thinking about college... What future will the five of them choose?

Shinobu Omiya: Asuka Nishi
A girl who resembles a kokeshi doll. Everyone calls her “Shino.” In middle school, she did a homestay in England, where she met Alice. She loves blonde haired girls and foreign countries. She’s excellent at sewing and sometimes makes cosplay outfits for Alice. She’s hopeless at academics and can’t speak English at all, but dreams of one day being an interpreter.
Alice Cartelet: Manami Tanaka
A blonde haired girl from England who came to study in Japan in her first year of high school because she wanted to see Shinobu. She is staying with the Omiya family, and thus shares a home life with Shinobu. She’s passionate about studying, knows a lot about Japan, and loves Japanese culture. She treasures a hairpin that she got from Shinobu. She wants to stay with Shinobu forever, but...
Aya Komichi: Risa Taneda
A friend of Shinobu and Yoko’s from middle school. She’s a serious student who gets excellent results. However, she also has a bashful side and isn’t always honest about her feelings. She loves romance novels and discussing love. She used to be shy, but Yoko helped bring her out of her shell by talking to her in middle school. Her personality changes when it comes to Yoko.
Yoko Inokuma: Yumi Uchiyama
A cheerful wisecracker who loves to eat. She has twin siblings named Kota and Mitsuki. She has known Shinobu since elementary school and greatly admires her older sister Isami, whom she calls “Isa-ne.” She has known Aya since middle school, and they have a strong bond that goes beyond a friendship. She is just as bad at studying as Shinobu.
Karen Kujou: Nao Toyama
A childhood friend of Alice’s who followed her to Japan. She’s cheerful and easy going. She’s popular in class and says what she wants without hesitation. Ms. Kuzehashi often scolds her for her attitude. She’s a rich girl with a Japanese mother and a British father.
Honoka Matsubara: Ayaka Suwa
A classmate who especially admires Karen. During her first year of high school, she didn’t have the courage to speak to her, but from second year, she was put in the same class as Shinobu and the others and gradually started opening up. She shares a love of blonde haired girls with Shinobu, and they form the Blonde Hair Alliance. She’s good at balancing on balls.
Isami Omiya: Yukari Tamura
Shinobu’s sister, who is two years older than her. Although she usually teases Shinobu, she’s actually worried about the fact that Shinobu’s been absent-minded since elementary school, and asks Yoko to look out for her. She works as a model while attending college, and Aya praises her charisma. However, she’s awful at cooking.
Kana Higurashi: Mari Nakatsu
Kana has known Honoka since middle school, and they both belong to the tennis club. After watching an anime called Magical Girl Prism with her younger sister Hina, Kana developed a love of magical girls. She and Karen often have a great time discussing anime. She frequently points out Honoka’s silliness with logical remarks.
