So today on Honey’s Anime, we’ll be taking a look at this awesome Humble Bundle deal and giving you our top picks for what’s inside this incredible bundle. But be quick about it, because the deal is only available until April 16th!

What’s a Humble Bundle?

If you haven’t bought from Humble Bundle before, they’re a charity-focused organization that first rose to prominence by selling independently developed video games in charity bundles. Since then, they’ve had huge partnerships with large corporations and not-for-profits, and now routinely offer excellent deals on video games, eBooks, or digital manga and graphic novels.

Even better, you get to choose how much you pay for your Humble Bundle! Depending on the minimum you choose to spend, you might get fewer or more items in your bundle, but you’ll also get to choose where your money goes. You can give more or less to different charities or groups partnered with the bundle — it’s flexible and goes a long way to helping charities in a meaningful way!

What’s in the Kodansha Award-Winning Bundle?

The currently available bundle boasts some of Kodansha’s incredible award-winning manga, from adventure to sci-fi to slice-of-life! No matter what you’re interested in reading, there’ll definitely be something to interest you here.

There are 15 different series in the bundle, for a total of 136 volumes! As listed on the Humble Bundle site, you can get:

  • Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai (A Condition Called Love) Vol. 1 - 6
  • Blue Lock Vol. 1 - 3
  • Blue Period Vol 1 - 3
  • Sidonia no Kishi (Knights of Sidonia) Vol. 1 - 7
  • Kounodori: Dr. Stork Vol. 1 - 15
  • P to JK (My Boy in Blue) Vol. 1 - 8
  • Boku to Kimi no Taisetsu na Hanashi (Our Precious Conversations) Vol. 1 - 5
  • Kiseijuu (Parasyte) Vol. 1 - 8
  • Kuragehime (Princess Jellyfish) Vol. 1 - 9
  • Uchuu Kyoudai (Space Brothers) Vol. 1 - 36
  • Go-Toubun no Hanayome (The Quintessential Quintuplets) Vol 1 - 7

Honey’s Anime Top Picks!

What are we most excited about in the bundle?
For our romance-addicted readers, it’s hard to pass up the heart-breaking series Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie In April), which was adapted into an incredibly moving anime. Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai (A Condition Called Love) is also a hugely emotional high-school romance, and Go-Toubun no Hanayome (The Quintessential Quintuplets) is a familiar name to harem rom-com lovers!

If romance isn’t your thing, Blue Lock is an action-packed drama about the ruthless future of Japanese soccer, while Sidonia no Kishi (Knights of Sidonia) is an older, but no less beloved sci-fi horror with mechs. Of course, if we’re talking horror, we can’t ignore the chance to grab all eight volumes of the classic 1988 series Kiseijuu (Parasyte) as well!

There are some other surprises in the bundle too, like the shoujo age-gap romance P to JK (My Boy in Blue), and the goofy sci-fi comedy Uchuu Kyoudai (Space Brothers). And if there’s anything we’re happiest to see in this Kondansha Humble Bundle, it’s the inclusion of the truly excellent seinen fantasy Tongari Boushi no Atelier (Witch Hat Atelier), which is practically worth the price of admission alone!

Final Thoughts

Getting a huge amount of digital manga for cheap, AND supporting a great cause in the process is a fantastic opportunity. Whether there are only a few volumes you have your eye on — or all of them! — this is a great time to spend a few dollars and pick up some excellent reads!
