In Sakamoto Desu Ga? and Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan!, both Sakamoto and Saiki have qualities that their peers are extremely covetous of. As the main characters for each anime appear perfect in everything that they do, this condition comes to them naturally. Moreover, Sakamoto and Saiki are incredibly engrossing guys with characteristics that make for interesting and hilarious anime.
2. Storyline Points Out That There’s No Real Plot Climax
In a positive light, although there isn’t a real conflict or barrier Sakamoto and Saiki must overcome, the purpose and end result for watching these anime is to get a good laugh out of the ridiculousness of the characters in various situations. Every time there is a major plot twist, Sakamoto and Saiki combat the circumstance with a resolve that is completely outrageous!
3. Constant Exaggerations: The Style of Humor and Comedy in Both Anime is Identical
Both Sakamoto Desu Ga? and Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan! are produced with over-the-top scenes and gestures, providing constant comedy and entertainment. With both male leads still in high school, their lives as teens are already marked by interesting and action-packed events. Additionally, each anime is filled with excessive gag scenes that poke fun at everyday occurrences.

Mob Psycho 100 revolves around the story of Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama. Shigeo is a middle school student who is endowed with psychic abilities at a very young age. As a very shy and introverted person, Shigeo realizes that the use of his abilities draws negative attention between the real world and the supernatural realm. So, he restrains from using his skills as much as he can. As Shigeo becomes more aware of who he is without his abilities, he seeks to become friends with Tsubomi, a girl in his class, who he’s had a crush on. Wanting to grow closer to her, Shigeo continues on his journey in balancing his supernatural gift, learning to fit in.

1. Character Driven Story with Comedic Support
Sakamoto Desu Ga? and Mob Psycho 100 allow viewers to experience the lives of these very interesting fellows, who above all else, are set apart from the rest of us normal folk. Although Sakamoto can’t help being flawless at everything, Mob is resisting how he really is in order to blend in with his peers. With each scenario, the anime provides comedic relief in typically tense and awkward situations.
2. Zany, Eccentric Artistry
Whether Sakamoto is completing school chores, playing arcade games, or even drinking water at the water fountain, the aura around him while completing such tasks makes him seem so godly. Additionally, Mob’s abilities and strengths are demonstrated from 0-60 in Mob Psycho 100, amplifying how his differences makes him who he is. As such, the overemphasis in various art forms for Sakamoto Desu Ga? and Mob Psycho 100 are intended to highlight and supplement the funniest moments.
3. P P P Pokerfaced!
Sakamoto Desu Ga? and Mob Psycho 100 were both ridiculously funny in that Sakamoto and Mob are deadpanned. Regardless of the chaos around them, they appear expressionless, straight-faced and unaffected. On a more serious note, in an attempt to keep Sakamoto’s character mysterious and to close-off knowledge of Mob’s ability to others, each of their impassive facial expressions are displayed to prevent their peers from placing them in a subordinate position. Essentially, the anime is to document how awesome they are; Sakamoto and Mob are able to keep their cool about everything.
