Hagoromo & King Oscar [Oil Sardines] PV
What You Need to Know:
- It seems that Char Aznable has taken a break from his usual duties and instead of trying to defend the galaxy, he's now promoting good health by ensuring fans of Mobile Suit Gundam consume some delicious Sardines covered in Soya Bean Oil. Just when you thought things couldn't be any stranger in Japan when it comes to odd collaborations well this one certainly is. Prior to this collaboration, the Gundam franchise had teamed up with Hello Kitty to create a fantastic looking Hello Kitty designed Gundam Chogokin figure collection, in order to celebrate Mobile Suit Gundam's 40th anniversary and Hello Kitty's 45th birthday.
- Char does indeed share a strong resemblance to King Oscar, which perhaps explains why it was decided that Char would be the spokesperson for this new flavor of Sardine. This collab is for a limited time and the packages can be found across various supermarkets and convenience stores in Japan under the name "King Oscar Oil Chardines", a nice little pun on Sardines and Char. Ha! Nice one!
- What's even cooler though is that the collaboration PV features Shuuichi Ikeda, the original voice behind Char Aznable. The containers will also feature illustrations by Tsukasa Kotobuki, the mastermind behind the beloved series. The official Twitter page has even gone as far as to provide fans with delicious recipes, which we highly recommend trying, that is, if you're into Chardines like we are!
Man, just watching that PV makes me crave for Chardines!
I'd buy it just to collect them haha. Probably not a good idea though.
