I'm pretty sure that fans of shows like Norn9 and Amnesia will find this right up their alley. I do have to admit though, the resemblence to Code:Realize is striking. All you need is a seiyuu shuffle, and the art style is just about the same.

Synopsis

The time is the 25th year of the Taisho Era. Tokyo, Imperial Capital.

Tsugumi Kuze, a member of nobility, is on the threshold of deciding to marry in order to save her declining household. Then, her younger brother is sucked into an accident that was caused by a book titled “Maremono”. This book causes a massive influence on the people who read it.

Through this incident, somehow Tsugumi is now able to see the sentiments that reside within Maremono which are called Aura. In front of this very confused girl, an organization charged with the defense and management of Maremono known as Teikoku Tosho Jouhou Shisan Kanrikyoku (Imperial Library Information Asset Management Bureau), Fukurou for short, appears and requests her cooperation with conducting an investigation into Maremono.

In a state of confusion, she agrees to accept their offer and work with Fukurou investigating Maremono.

This is the story of the fate of one girl whose fate is swaying and fluctuating like a scale balancing.

Three Episode Impression

3 episodes down and all I can say about Nil Admirari no Tenbin is that it’s a reverse harem. The OP seems to be reaching out to the crowd that likes idol anime, while the storyline itself is supposed to help appeal to those who love plot. So far, I think Nil Admirari no Tenbin hasn’t quite figured itself out yet. The plot is a bit scrambled and the main character is your typical self deprecating, low self-esteem main character, while the other boys...don’t even seem to have any sort of place in the story. You see bits and pieces of them, but I honestly cannot even tell you their names since they don’t show up as much as I’d like. The artwork is nice but the coloring is off and gives me that whole dated feel. I’m not loving this anime (especially considering the plot holes (like where is Rui’s arranged fiance from episode 1?!), but it’s trying so I suppose I can try to like it. Right now, though, I can’t even recommend Nil Admirari no Tenbin as it is so scrambled that it’s boring, if that makes any sense.

Tsugumi Kuze

The oldest daughter of the Kuze nobility, she looks after her younger brother in place of their mother. Due to the influence of this, she is sometimes unintentionally meddlesome.

Hayato Ozaki

Voice Actor: Yuuki Kaji

Hayato belongs to the Investigations department of the Teikoku Tosho Jouhou Shisan Kanrikyoku aka Fukurou. Having a strong sense of justice, he acts as the leader of the Investigations department.

Akira Kougami

Voice Actor: Nobuhiko Okamoto

Akira also belongs to the Investigations department of Fukurou. He earnestly works hard when it comes to work, but other than that, he does not spend any time with others and thus is alone a lot of the time.

Hisui Hoshikawa

Voice Actor: Ryouta Oosaka

Hisui belongs to the Investigations department as well. Serious and always fighting the good fight, he is the reprover to bad-mouthed Hayato.

Shougo Ukai

Voice Actor: Ryouhei Kimura

Shougo is the son of the Prime Minister of Japan, and is a student attending classes at Teito University’s Law School. Due to a certain incident, he is a part-time employee working for Fukuro.

Shizuru Migiwa

Voice Actor: Kenichi Suzuki

Shizuru is a popular author who is on the good side of the head of the Investigations department. He was able to live in an apartment for Fukurou when his own lodging was demolished.

Rui Sagizawa

Voice Actor: Takahiro Sakurai

Rui is a medical student at Teito University. A scholarship student, this gentle-looking boy has various part-time jobs in order to support himself.
