Discussion Time

Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den chapter 22 honestly made us tear up a bit and not in disappointment but with raw emotions. While Hachimaru continues to fight this strange samurai, our opponent notices that his princess—aka Ann—is unleashing powerful boons to our samurai and giving him true strength. During this time period, we see Ann’s memories of her brother Nanashi—or what just means nameless like our previous no-name samurai from earlier chapters—and what happened to him. Ann’s brother wanted to become a samurai not for the pride but to protect his sister at all cost. Unfortunately, his pursuit of power seemed to lead to his demise and Ann tried from then on to forget about him. When she met Hachimaru though, she began to remember her brother’s actions and how much that meant to her. Now Ann strives to be the princess she knows she can be and try to protect her samurai with all of her heart! Ann’s desire is simple, stay connected with her brother! With such a strong belief it looks like Hachimaru has also been able to overpower his foe and has dealt a decisive strike! What awaits Hachimaru and Ann now with this big win? We shall find out in the next chapter of Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den but for now let’s reflect on the greatness that was chapter 22 of Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den.

Why You Should Read Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den (Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru) Chapter 22

1. Ann’s Brother

We took a slight break from the current fight between Hachimaru and the opposing samurai to see Ann’s past and apparently her lost brother. We won’t lie, folks; we teared up at some points seeing such an honorable wannabe samurai fall. Plus, Ann losing her brother made us feel bad and we hope with Hachimaru’s arrival she will never lose sight of her past no matter how painful it was.

2. Ann’s Resolve

Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den has already shown what Hachimaru is fighting for, but now we’ve learned what Ann’s heart and resolve are focused on. The loss of her brother gave Ann pain that probably held her back in life, but with Hachimaru now as her samurai, she’s moving forward and regaining her inner strength! Ann will truly become a powerful princess and give Hachimaru strength he will need for upcoming battles!

Final Thoughts

Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den chapter 22 was focused more on Ann this week and that actually was a good time for this reflection. We’ve learned about Ann’s unspoken brother and why she joined Hachimaru to fight alongside him as his princess! Hachimaru seems to have won his duel thanks to Ann’s power and now we’re wondering what will await our samurai next! Before that though we have a simple question for you all!
