One of the highly anticipated WEBTOON adaptations this year, The God of High School is a currently-airing martial arts exposé. Without skipping a beat, we felt it necessary to grab hold of two of the show’s main trio and get to know a little more about the voices behind Mori Jin and Yoo Mira, voiced by Tachibana Tatsumaru-san and Ohashi Ayaka-san!

Interview with Tachibana Tatsumaru (Mori Jin), Ohashi Ayaka (Yoo Mira)

With this being your breakout lead role and how highly anticipated The God of High School is in this new wave of WEBTOON adaptations, do you feel any pressure regarding the series?

I felt a great deal of pressure. I was worried about my stomach because I easily get nervous, but the team was awesome, and I was able to run to the end.

How do you feel about this new wave of Japanese adaptations and voicing of WEBTOONS and other non-Japanese source material in anime?

I think it's a great thing. It's a way to learn something new that wasn't well known in Japan, and I can share my thoughts with people from all over the world!!

How was it working with Ohashi-san and Kumagai-san as your senpai?

They were very nice to me, and we got to know each other quickly. Three of us talked about a lot of things during the break. I'd love to get together with the three of us again!

Yu seems very different from the characters you've played in the past. How was your experience voicing her different from your past roles?

She is good at kenjutsu (sword techniques), so the action scenes were difficult for me as I felt like an amateur. She is strong herself, so it was hard for me to act and play the dialogue in one take.

What are some of your favourite anime or manga?

I love “Kuroko's Basketball.” 🏀 I was on the basketball team, so I enjoyed it more!

What should we be looking forward to the most in The God of High School?

Characters with a lot of personalities, I think. They all have strong wills and wishes for GOH, the tournament, and the story gets more and more super-dimensional, so [fans will enjoy] every episode which will give them a fresh reaction to enjoy!
