The 5 Most Intelligent Characters in Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita (Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It)

Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei shitemita is unique in that it is both comedic and intelligent, giving us a brief respite from the difficulty that we are facing globally right now. It is the perfect anime to immerse yourself in while stuck at home and the following are the most intelligent people in the show. Numerical and theoretical theories teach us the importance of science in relation to romance and are proven through the actions of the following characters from Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It. Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It is full of smart characters. After all, that is kind of the point. However, some trump the rest as far as brains. Today we will look at the most intelligent characters, chosen by emotional and intellectual intelligence.

5. Kotonoha Kanade

As a math student, Kotonoha sets herself apart from her peers. From the standpoint of just mathematics, her knowledge outweighs many excluding the Professor. She is more emotionally intelligent than many of the others in the Saitama University Science and Research department but often is held back due to her nerves when approaching her boisterous and genius colleagues. Kotonoha is an interesting character in her own right because she gives us a layman’s look at how a normal person would react if they were in the same situation as she.

4. Ena Ibarada

With her love of playing video games, Ena is very relatable. She is incredibly smart but we rarely see her actually do anything mathematical despite being part of the science lab. Her close relationship with Kosuke is fun to watch and shows that she is much more emotionally intelligent than others on this list. This is proven when we watch her tease Kosuke because she knows that he will be lured in by the fact that she looks like his favorite anime character. Also, since the two are childhood friends, they have a closer relationship that is entertaining. Ena often comments on the fact that the others are emotionally immature and offers explanations of the interactions of Ayame and Shinya when needed. While Ena is often critically observing others, she is referred to as one of the most intelligent people in the science lab by multiple characters throughout the anime.

3. Ayame Himuro

Ayame earns top points for her level of intelligence. Ever since she was young, she has stood out in the crowd for being cold, beautiful, and smart. Despite this, she has few social skills and is extremely awkward when expressing her love for Shinya. Being a scientist, she thinks of everything as a problem with single solution and this is how they approach their relationship. Ayame is exceptionally intelligent and this is shown through her complex display of theories and problems throughout the anime.

2. Shinya Yukimura

Shinya approaches everything in life mathematically. He believes, much like Ayame, that everything should have a rational solution, including love. This is why he proposes that they must define Ayame’s love in a scientific manner upon her confession. His emotional intelligence is almost zero, though, as evidenced by his confusion upon feeling angry or confused when he reacts to situations that pertain to Ayame without thinking. Shinya excels in the fields of math and science in a way that is almost unparalleled but he lacks emotional intelligence in a way that is comical and just plain sad.

1. Professor Ikeda

The Professor is seen every few episodes and blunders onto the screen as a comical and buff scientist. However, he has deep knowledge of all of the concepts presented to him by his students, showing that his intellect far exceeds anyone else’s in the room. He also is able to manipulate his students by encouraging them in ways that are unique to that student. His emotional intelligence and brains far outweigh others on this list making him the most intelligent person in Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It.

Final Thoughts

While there are many intelligent people in the Saitama University Science and Research department, there are a few that stand out among the others. The 5 characters listed above truly are the scientific future of the school despite them constantly trying to figure out impossible solutions. A correlation between emotion and science seems like it would make an anime difficult to enjoy but it is undeniably humorous and it excels at maintaining the viewers’ attention.
