We otaku aren’t always gifted with luck when it comes to dealing with the opposite gender. Finding love as an otaku can be quite…troublesome but many of us still eventually find our chosen partners after so long. While we wait for that glorious destined day, we rely on anime to give us oppai, pantsu, and loads of other ecchi tropes. That’s why, as tiring as the isekai genre might be for some—and we totally understand why it can be irksome to have dozens of isekai every year—for us here at Honey’s Anime, it is truly amazing. Not only does isekai let us live vicariously through another character’s eyes but we often get to witness high amounts of ecchi and that is something we feel many anime fans forget.
Oppai in Another World is Never a Bad Thing
Giant oppai, little oppai, or a mixture of either is what us otaku long for in ecchi anime. For example, the main two female leads of How Not to Summon a Demon Lord—Rem Galeu and Shera L Greenwood. These two amazing ladies each have different-sized chests but the more important role they serve is that they are the two ladies who meet our main character. Ecchi isekai allows the viewer to feel as if going to another world won’t be so bad since you’ll have beautiful girls waiting for you as you enter into a new form that will wow the ladies you come across. If you were teleported into a world filled with zombies or scary demons, you’d probably hate the idea of reincarnation and equally would see isekai anime as another form of horror.
Live Out Your Fantasy
Why would anyone want to go to another world—or be summoned to one—if all that awaits is the same life we live already? Isekai anime transports our minds into a new world filled with fantasy themes that give us what we crave. Want a world where you are super OP—but still popular with the ladies—then you’re going to want the world of Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time. Maybe God will give you some favor—after ending your existence prematurely—and give you an OP phone like In Another World with a Smartphone. Regardless of the isekai you end up in, you can finally live out your fantasy life and enjoy a new realm of possibilities! That is what ecchi-themed isekai do best after all, give you hot anime characters and a new set of powers only you can handle.
Seriously, the Beautiful Anime Girls and Boys
Otaku aren’t ignorant to the fact that some people in this real world are quite…attractive. Yet, are they as attractive as the cast of characters in The Misfit of Demon King Academy and/or Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious? Probably not and these types of characters can only be found in isekai anime with ecchi thrown in. Overlord is a cool isekai but only a few characters are beautiful in that and most are quite…terrifying.
Comedic Timing Perfected
There are plenty of serious isekai out there such as The Rising of the Shield Hero but as amazing as these types of isekai can be, they make going to another world seem dangerous and ill appealing. No Game No Life and Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody remind us that we can go to a dangerous world but also have a good time. We don’t want to deal with struggling to become strong like in Arifureta but want to get our harem, enjoy nosebleed-inducing oppai, and wonder and laugh about how amazing we are in this new world. Ecchi isekai anime is the only isekai capable of nailing comedy and that is why we think it’s just a perfect genre combination.
Final Thoughts
The isekai genre can be like getting twenty free cakes. Yes, we love cake—and pie too—but after a while, we are going to get tired of eating it. Luckily, when you sprinkle in ecchi to any isekai series, you end up with a truly beautiful coexistence that makes us otaku smile from ear to ear. Do you feel we need even more ecchi isekai?
