One of the best things about Bungo Stray Dogs was how many different characters had some depth to them! Named and inspired by historical authors, these characters were all well done in the wide range of their abilities, relationships, and comedy. In Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!, the plot is not beholden to character development or story arc, and this invites lots of the silly moments between the cast that we all enjoyed in the original series. Make sure to watch out for when Dazai tricks Kunekida into writing untrue things into his book of ideals, again. It never gets old!
Demi-Detectives and Mini-Mafiosos
This chibi-spinoff is filled with cute characters! Kyouka was used as a dangerous killer in the original series but showed herself to be a sweet girl inside. In Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!, her traditional Japanese dress and long pigtails are even more adorable than in the original publication, and her adventures are equally cute. On the side of the Port Mafia, the unrequited adoration that Akutagawa has for Dazai is more present than ever. This series is taking the cutest parts about each individual and letting that part shine through!
Even the Adventures are Kawaii!
In Bungo Stray Dogs, the story involves the Armed Detective Agency's adventures as they fight crime and the Port Mafia. In Bungo Stray Dogs Wan!, the story is slice-of-life and centers around activities that have nothing to do with fighting, though old habits die hard. Our favorite characters live their daily lives, run errands, and have some adorable adventures!
See the Detective Agency care for a kitten and look for its owner. Watch the president get bummed out because he missed his chance at petting it! Other adventures are going to the public baths, flower viewing with bento boxes, and cleaning out the lockers at the Agency. What could this puddle of red liquid be, that seeps from Doctor Yosuno's locker? You'll have to watch to find out!

It brings together all the comedy and characters we love from the original, but it executes with these adorable characters in a slice-of-life setting.
