To most of us, living in a fantasy world full of adventure and action is the dream. We all want a change to hack and slash goblins, monsters, and demons. We also want to taste some of that monster meat. Unfortunately for us, we are nothing more than an ordinary human in this mundane world without spells and magic. However, have you ever considered that there might also be some people in that other magical world who want to live our typical, ordinary life. Sounds far fetched, you say? Then, let’s talk about Hazure Skill: The Guild Member with a Worthless Skill Is Actually a Legendary Assassin.

Discussion Time

As the title suggests, Hazure Skill: The Guild Member with a Worthless Skill Is Actually a Legendary Assassin focuses on a legendary assassin who didn’t even bat an eye killing a demon lord. However, instead of killing the strongest of monsters and assassinating the most perilous targets, he opts to seek the uneventful life. With his achievements and feats, the king gratefully obliged to his wish, and even tried egging him to a life of lust and greed.

Why You Should Read Hazure Skill: The Guild Member with a Worthless Skill Is Actually a Legendary Assassin

1. A Tale of a Hidden Master

There is a famous Chinese idiomatic phrase “Crouching tiger, hidden dragon”, which basically refers to incredibly powerful individuals hiding from people’s eyes. The protagonist in this story is a great example of that. Even though he’s arguably the strongest existence in his world, he doesn’t even say one word about it. However, he’s also not afraid of showing what he’s made of. Since we know of his identity and the people around him don’t, it’s really interesting and satisfying seeing them act big in front of him. It just makes us go, “Just wait ‘til you see what he’s made of!”

2. Misadventures of Normalcy

Even though he’s ridiculously strong, the protagonist knows little about being normal. Because he works on his little knowledge as well as observations, he often messes up and misunderstands what a normal human actually does. In fact, he started his journey by shutting himself and the demon lord in an inn, ordering food, and shagging all day long. It wasn’t after he’s been called out for the passionate noises, which he didn’t bother denying, that he’s got another tip on how to live normally. Of course, there are more misadventures and misunderstandings that come thereafter.

Why You Should Skip Hazure Skill: The Guild Member with a Worthless Skill Is Actually a Legendary Assassin

1. Unneeded Sex Scenes

What appals us in this series is that the protagonist seems to view sex as an important part of being ordinary. A factor in this is because of the lecherous king who trys to turn him to his more lustful ways. On that note, we also find it weird that he has no problem shagging the demon lord for multiple reasons. First is the fact that he’s human and she’s a demon, no matter how human she looks. Second, his only connection with her is him literally showing mercy upon her. That said, the sex scenes are purely fanservice.

Final Thoughts

This series is like a very long epilogue. The notion of living peacefully and away from the action or grandeur is after a long, long journey. This series, obviously, starts with the end. That being said, the series takes a lighter and kind of slice of life approach to it.
