What You Need to Know:
- If you grew up somewhere in North America, you probably think of Halloween as a day people either spend playfully trick-or-treating, or welcoming those who are trick-or-treating. Or maybe you're in college, and you have a party to go to that night. Whatever your plans were this Halloween, they were almost certainly different from what went down in Tokyo!
- The Halloween 'holiday' has been steadily gaining popularity in Japan, centred around Tokyo, over the past several years. But instead of the traditional way of celebrating, Tokyoites has taken to partying it up in the busy city-centres of Tokyo – mainly Shibuya and Ikebukuro.
- While there was a Cosplay Festival at Ikebukuro, and things were more or less in order, there was a rowdy crowd that developed in Shibuya, eventually resulting in riot police being deployed, and leaving a mound of trash where they gathered. See some of the pics from the night below.

They're gonna be doing this every year? lol
Nakano was nice and peaceful...
Part of me feels like these people are missing the point of Halloween, but part of me thinks they should just have fun!
If you ask me, I'd prefer a more peaceful Halloween!
