Titan-apocalypse!!!
This week’s moment is going to be a highlight from Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2. Tension is extremely high as we continue to revisit the events of the recently breached Wall Rose. As several titans have entered the lands within Wall Rose, we take a closer look at Conny and especially, Sasha! We learn that Sasha is, of course, a country bumpkin and is always self-conscious of her accent and way of living, as presented to us in episode 27. Conny, we don’t get to see much of, other than the titan breach coming from the south where his village is located. One of the commanders of a squad is sent out to warn/rescue any who are in the area of the titans, and since men were needed to guide the rest of the squad around the land (because they’re familiar with it), Conny volunteered to take some to the south towards his village's location in order to check on his family.
Although, that isn’t exactly what we’re getting out of the episode as we delve deeper into the world of the titans and their origins. We know that titans come in many shapes and sizes but who would’ve thought what we would be introduced to towards the end of the episode. In the last episode, we experienced a titan which looked more like an ape, and it had the capability of speech!! Now, we find out that there is a strong possibility that humans can be affected by titans, which seems to change the human body's molecular structure to that of a titan! Mind you, I don’t necessarily follow the manga, for I prefer to ingest such entertainment in the form of anime, so knowing this, has blown my mind as well as knowing that titans are in the walls (which I assume make up the wall, which draws MANY questions that I want answered). Hopefully, this season of Shingeki no Kyoujin will do just that?!
To conclude, everything is beginning to unfold as more truths about the titans are revealed and that there is definitely more to the humans in charge than meets the eye. What could it be? Who is calling the shots? Since we know Eren can transform into a titan, and that it is experimental, who else can transform? Are humans turning into titans a new type of zombie-apocalypse?
Titan-apocalypse!? These are just a few of the many questions stirring in the pot of the anime community, and I’m curious to know as well.
Let’s tune in next time!
Waifu of the season
We have been waiting with baited breath for the new Ero Manga Sensei series from the creator of Oreimo. It has been a wait well worth it. Cute, funny, slightly ecchi, and more, this feels just like we have been given more Oreimo. The series opens with the protagonist Masamune Izumi who writes light novels under a penname. One day, he hears that the illustrator with whom he has been working with for three years, but has never seen their face, will be holding a live stream. He rushes to watch it after dropping off a meal for his shut-in younger sister. Then, he learns after her fatal flaw of leaving the meal in the background, that she is Ero Manga Sensei, the illustrator for his novels!! He confronts her and confesses that he writes the novel and we meet tsundere waifu of the season, Sagiri.
Cute, adorable, a total pervert, and a complete tsundere, she has some past issues that have not been resolved. Even though she is opening up somewhat to Masamune at the end, she still ends up kicking him out and cutting the conversation short. This is where things were getting good, so we cannot wait to see more! We meet the next girl too, a friendly and upbeat class representative.
Queen Queen Queen
I live at home with two little girls, one of which wants nothing more than to be a princess. The main character, Koharu, reminds me of that. She dreamt of being a queen from long ago and wants to go back to that time, but guess what? Her mother denies it. And now, she’s a bum who hasn’t gotten a job and now she’s stuck in a small town trying to revive its tourism by being renamed queen.
The moment that really stood out to me was just the fact that she seems to completely change her mind when she recalls her childhood memory of having been to the Chupakabara (is that how you say it) park. This anime series already reminds me so much of Amagi Brilliant Park, I have no idea where it is going to go, but it does not feel very original thus far. This anime reminds me of all the girls who go to Disneyland and wish to be dressed up as princesses while strolling through the park. I guess this is just fulfilling that little girl dream, right? I guess so, but I never had that dream so we’ll just have to see what is exactly in store for us.
Don’t Ever Become What You Hate
I freaking love this funky opening song! Best of the season? Anyways, Fukuzou Moguro is back, and if you don’t know him, he is a traveling salesman with a huge grin, always looking for clients with a problem he can solve. But he deals with hearts… human hearts... and this clients aren’t always aware of what the rules of their contracts are. I confess, I missed Warau Salesman NEW’s first episode and I have never seen the original Warau Salesman either, but watching the 2 first episodes together was the best thing I have done this week. Or not, but who cares? The thing is, the “clients” in this show are sooo relatable, and this is what I loved and what makes me want to keep watching it. For instance, the second story of episode #2 (every episode consists of 2 short stories) is about a poor employee that hates being yelled at by his boss and quits, so Mr. Moguro “helps him” by giving him a new job while he gets his confidence back. In this company, people’s roles are changed everyday, so anybody can be a simple employee or even become the boss for a day. Long story short, he becomes what he hates, and more sooner than later he is yelling at people the same exact words his boss yelled at him. The funny thing is that, so far, this is the only story where Mr. Moguro is not pushing the client to do something; he’s just enjoying it from afar.
Warau Salesman NEW is a creepy show with a pinch of classic horror stories and a lot of psychological and philosophical moments. And oh, there’s some comedy too. I almost forgot about Moguro’s waterproof business card! LOL
Ninja School Sweethearts
In the exciting first episode of Boruto, not only do we get a glimpse into the future that hooks us from the very first scene, we also get to watch Naruto’s own child act the fool like his father did before him.
Boruto is stubborn like his dad and feels stifled by his father’s position. A problem Naruto would’ve killed to have when he was a kid, I’m sure.
My favorite moment of this week was getting to see sweet Hinata serving dinner for her two incredibly adorable little ninja babies while dad Naruto is at work late. While that seems boring (this isn’t a slice of life show!), it’s truly heartwarming to see Hinata’s dreams have come true and watch her gush over how cool she thought Naruto was back in school when she had a crush on him. Kyaaa~!
Another interesting look into this series, just from this dinner scene alone, is Boruto’s clear rebellion against his father and his disappointment in feeling like Naruto has abandoned his family to be the Hokage. But, that’s life, right? Somehow this series is making our favorite Naruto characters more human and I personally love it. Though I’m really hoping for more “remember back when” moments from Hinata! ~❤
