Leos are divas, Leos are loyal, Leos are forces of nature. Born from July 23rd to August 22nd, they are the kings and queens of the zodiac. They can be your best friends, your demanding lovers, or your colleagues who love fashion and being the center of attention a bit too much. Deep down they just want to be adored because they feel insecure about their self-worth. We love Leos because they brighten our days and nights, so we updated our list with five more female Leo anime characters that we think embody the traits of this proud star sign.
5. Hana Uzaki from Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!)
Uzaki-can, a rambunctious girl that doesn’t understand the meaning of alone time, follows around her senpai and gets all the attention she wants thanks to her “sugoi dekai” oppai and her many antics. But Uzaki can’t get the reaction she wants from the one important to her, so she decides to use her charm to the extreme. Sounds familiar? Hana Uzaki is a Leo who teases her senpai relentlessly and actually craves his full attention. Notice me senpai!
4. Manatsu "Cure Summer" Natsumi from Tropical-Rouge! Precure (TROPICAL-ROUGE! PRETTY CURE)
Cure Summer is a beautiful Leo through and through. Fashionable, popular, pretty, and vivid, Natsumi awakens to her powers and transforms into Cure Summer. She loves makeup and her most prized possession is the lipstick her mother gave her. Cure Summer’s charm point is her lips. A shining diva, Cure Summer fights her enemies with the determination, fire, and style only a Leo could serve.
3. Risa Koizumi from Lovely★Complex (Lovely Complex)
Risa never goes unnoticed. She’s tall, pretty, loud, and energetic. She prefers to only show her strength and willfulness instead of her softer side. When she realizes she fell for her classmate Ootani, she can’t hold back and confesses her love, despite their considerable height difference. Risa is a Leo who secretly loves romance and fights for her right to get together with the guy she wants, despite what everyone else might say.
2. Haruhi Suzumiya from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
It’s all about Haruhi, from the title to the entirety of this zany series from the late 2000s that marked a generation of otaku. Haruhi is not interested in ordinary people. You need to strive to get her attention. Funny, a little crazy, and thrill-seeking, Haruhi’s enthusiasm about the paranormal is infectious. Her leadership abilities and the influence she has on others make Kyon and more of her classmates follow in her adventures. Haruhi is a Leo who went through an existential crisis, realizing that she really wants to be someone important among the millions of people on Earth, but she didn’t give up and decided to live like a super interesting person, without any qualms about others’ opinions.
1. Mereoleona Vermillion from Black Clover

And there you have them, five ladies made to stun, fight, and bask in their glory. Who is your favorite female Leo anime character? Let us know in the comments below and thanks for reading. Happy birthday to all otaku Leos out there!
Leos are a proud and creative zodiac sign. They fill a room with warmth and laughter immediately and their presence allows for a pleasant feeling in anyone that they interact with. These generous and passionate individuals allow for the Leo to be one of the most respected and most anticipated signs to interact with. As with any sign, Leos can portray a more negative side that makes them difficult to be around. They can be arrogant and stubborn, which can strain relationships. They can also be lazy, which may cause trouble at work or school and their inflexibility can cause difficulty in all areas of their lives. The Leo is an admirable sign to be born under as long as you can levy your strengths and balance your weaknesses.
As with any person, anime characters have their own personalities that are able to be analyzed. The creative minds behind these characters give them life and assign birthdays that align with their traits. By doing this, we are able to examine these characters and compare them to their Leo traits. While there are many characters, we have brought together the list of females with birthdays that fall under the Leo dates of July 23 and August 22.
10. Izumi Takanashi from Working!! (Wagnaria!!)
- Episodes: 13
- Aired: April 2010 - June 2010
Izumi does not display the more sociable traits of the Leo. She is a shut-in that prefers writing above all else and enhancing her creative side of her zodiac. Her weak constitution often comes off as laziness and she often needs help doing even the simplest of tasks. Her passionate nature comes out through her writing as she is employed to write romance novels. Due to her lack of outward emotion and general absence of presence, Izumi falls to the bottom of our list of the top Leos.
9. Shiro from No Game, No Life
- Episodes: 12
- Aired: April 2014 - June 2014
Shiro has a passion for one thing and one thing only. That happens to be gaming, oh and of course her brother as well. Their tight knit relationship allows them to succeed in the world where they are sent. Shiro is very methodical in her thinking, allowing her to beat everyone she comes up against. Because of her skill, Shiro can come off as lazy and arrogant. However, when faced with social situations, particularly with her brother, Shiro can be warm-hearted. We take this back, only with her brother. She is grouchy and unsociable most of the time, landing her a spot at the bottom of our list.
8. Sasha Blouse from Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)
- Episodes: 25
- Aired: April 2013 - September 2013
When we say Leos are passionate, we do not discriminate. Sasha’s passion is food. Although she is somewhat timid around new people, she opens up quickly and becomes the center of attention among those she knows. Her cheerful nature comforts her companions, even in a war-torn country. Sasha is an admirable Leo but does not make it to the top of the list because of her lack of the more negative Leo traits.
7. Taiga Aisaka from Toradora!
- Episodes: 25
- Aired: October 2008 - March 2009
Taiga Aisaka has extreme difficulty when she is in any emotional state other than anger. While she is not a generally angry person by nature, she rarely portrays her emotions to any other than her closest friends. By putting up such a hard exterior, it is difficult for her to form new relationships, particularly romantic ones. In these types of situations, the more negative aspects of the Leo appear such as arrogance and stubbornness. These traits put her towards the bottom of our list of Leos.
6. Kokomi Teruhashi from Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.)
- Episodes: 120
- Aired: July 2016 - December 2016
Kokomi is likely the singular most self-centered person on earth. She is convinced that everyone worships her because she is so beautiful, and for most of the males she encounters she is able to prove this true. Kokomi represents many of the negative traits of the Leo, she is arrogant and expects everyone to do her bidding. Because of this, she is unable to garner the attention from Saiki, the one that she truly desires. Her passion for herself and generally cheerful demeanor earns her a spot on our list.
5. Kanade Tachibana from Angel Beats!
- Episodes: 13
- Aired: April 2010 - June 2010
Kanade rarely shows emotion. However, she becomes easily angered when she is forced to resort to facing her problems head on rather than falling back on God. This inability to face her own life parallels with being able to deal with her other emotions both good and bad. Her cold demeanor showcases the more negative aspects of the Leo and makes her come off as arrogant and inflexible. She is pouty when she doesn’t get her way and this enhances the more stubborn and self-centered view that everyone around her holds. These traits allow her a spot on our list.
4. Yuzu Aihara from Citrus
- Episodes: 12
- Aired: January 2018 - March 2018
Yuzu’s sense of fashion is unmatched and her creativity with her appearance is admirable, except to those at her school. The student council is against her and challenging her at every turn and it doesn’t help that the student council president is her step-sister. Their complicated relationship enhances Yuzu’s more negative Leo characteristics. She becomes more arrogant and inflexible. Her stubbornness makes for a difficult and problematic relationship that has many twists and turns throughout this anime.
3. Kurumu Kurono from Rosario to Vampire (Rosario + Vampire)
- Episodes: 13
- Aired: January 2008 - March 2008
Kurumu has a talent for the over dramatic. Being a succubus is hard work, particularly when it comes to getting a guy you like to like you back. This busty lady is extremely arrogant upon meeting Tsukune for the first time because she believed that he would fall for her wily ways. However, after a confrontation with Moka, the vampire, Kurumu started living life on a straighter and narrower path. This brought out her more humorous and warm-hearted nature that is extremely characteristic of a Leo and puts her towards the top of our list. Her dual personality is able to showcase both aspects of this zodiac sign.
2. Aqua from Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!)
- Episodes: 10
- Aired: January 2016 - March 2016
Aqua would have the saying dumb blonde embodied in a person, that is if she was blonde. This blue-haired beauty is always high-spirited and jovial. She often causes trouble because of her dim-wittedness and her positive actions quickly turn to chaos that the rest of her group has to fix. She often toots her own horn because of who she was before she came to this world and when others don’t listen she becomes stubborn and easily angered. This generous girl earns a place towards the top of our list because of her positive and negative traits that align with the Leo.
1. Kurisu Makise from Steins;Gate
- Episodes: 24
- Aired: April 2011 - September 2011
As one of the most well-respected females in science, Kurisu Makise is definitely no force to be messed with. Her roundabout way of thinking allows her to analyze every aspect of each situation that she approaches and come up with the optimal solution. Her passion for science allows her to excel in her field. However, she is arrogant and stubborn, particularly when it comes to situations with Rintaro Okabe. When it comes to dealing with her emotions, Kurisu has much difficulty and puts up a hard wall rather than facing the actual problems. These traits put her at the top of our list of top Leos because she represents both the good and the bad.
Final Thoughts
There are many reasons to admire the traits of the Leo. They are one of the most fun zodiac signs to be around because of their cheerful and humorous nature. These generous people fill up a room with their warm-hearted glow immediately. However, they do have more negative traits that they need to balance out as with any zodiac sign. Laziness, arrogance and stubbornness are second-nature to Leos and they can easily overcome their more positive aspects if they’re not careful. With proper attention to attitude, the Leo can be one of the most inspiring zodiac signs. This list is comprised of the most exciting female Leos in anime. Much care is taken with the creation of each and has allowed us to analyze these creative females for these zodiac articles. This creativity leaves much to be admired and just goes to show how much work and time has been spent to create the anime that we know and love.
