Those born between August 23 and September 22 belong to the sign of Virgo, the earthy analysts, and healers of the Zodiac. We looked into our favorite male anime characters and were pleasantly surprised that many of them are Virgos, so we picked the best of the best and we present them to you today. Happy birthday to all otaku Virgos!
5. Zenitsu from Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer)
Zenitsu is a cowardly demon slayer who does not give up out of a sense of responsibility, even though he is scared to death. He would rather live a normal, calm life. However, despite his low confidence and catastrophizing, he is a highly capable fighter. He just needs to believe more in himself! Sounds like a Virgo to us..!
4. Shion from No. 6
Shion believes in alternatives, unlike his partner Nezumi who swears to bring the downfall of their society. Unassuming, warm, and helpful, he tends to Nezumi's wounds, and gets into trouble for that, getting punished along with his mother to leave their comfortable life and start over. This is one of the many times Shion puts himself in danger to protect and care for others. Until the very end, Shion shows his intelligence, determination, and kindness.
3. Near “N” from Death Note
Near is the child prodigy who takes over after L, to try and defeat Light Yagami. He wasn't a fan favorite because of his cheekiness, but we must admit he is super smart, calm, and analytical. Virgos can make excellent detectives, and N fits the bill.
2. Kouzou Fuyutsuki from Neon Genesis Evangelion
The dude even looks like a Virgo, with his lean face and clean-cut look, and perceptive eyes. Kouzou Fuyutsuki is Gendou's right hand, a highly intelligent man who used to be a university professor and yet prefers a supportive role rather than the leading one. Fuyutsuki knows about Instrumentality and agrees to help with Gendo's project, trying to survive the complex machinations of SEELE. A level-headed Virgo, he is kind to his subordinates and tempers Gendo's harsher approach.
1. Doraemon
Yes, Doraemon is a Virgo. He’s ALWAYS prepared, with a pocket full of gadgets! Doraemon enters Nobita Nobi's life, ready to put it in order. If that doesn't scream Virgo, we don't know what does! He's a robotic cat, coming from the future, ready to tell Nobita how badly he messed up, because he slacked off during his lifetime, so even his descendants are affected by his poor life choices. We feel for Virgo Doraemon because he has undertaken a difficult task!
Final Thoughts
And there you have them, five male anime characters who are canonically born under the sign of Virgo. Cowardly yet devoted demon slayers, selfless healers, master logicians, and overly prepared creatures from outer space, these are all Virgos to keep an eye on. Were you surprised to learn that these characters are Virgos? Let us know in the comments below and thanks for reading!
When the traits of a Virgo are called into question, it is normal for people to think of a goodie-two shoes. That they are someone who is a straight A student in high school and gets a ride to college on a full scholarship. However, Virgos have many other traits that set them apart from the other zodiac signs. It is true that they are hardworking and analytical which generally lends well to school work or any kind of work for that matter, but they are also loyal and kind. Their hard work can get to them as they have a tendency to be extremely devoted and ignore other aspects of their life. They also tend to be shy and hold themselves and others to high (and sometimes unrealistic) expectations which set them up for disappointment.
Characters in anime also display the traits that align closely with the Virgo sign. Their character development and creation has exceeded to the point where we can closely analyze them along with their birthdays. By creating these lists, we can also marvel about the creation of such characters and it can inspire us to reach new heights with our own work. The male characters listed below are the ones with birthdays between August 23rd and September 22nd that have the closest alignment with the traits of the Virgo that they were born under.
10. Reita Toritsuka from Saiki Kusuo no W-nan (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.)
- Episodes: 120
- Aired: July 2016 - December 2016
Reita is probably the most conceited and least admirable person on this list. He is not motivated in any sort of academic nature. He is incredibly sexually charged and uses his psychic powers for perverse reasons. With the ability to speak with ghosts, he is able to manipulate them for his own personal gain. While he does attempt to help his friends in his own way, he mostly just gets in the way most of the time. Also considering the fact that Reita is not incredibly smart, his help is more often a hindrance than anything. These traits land him a spot at the bottom of our list.
9. Zeno from Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn)
- Episodes: 24
- Aired: October 2014 - March 2015
Zeno may be a new character to us in the anime at this point. However, wishing for a new season will certainly not allow us anything but unhappiness. Zeno is happy and full of life. He may not seem exceedingly hardworking but he is extremely loyal to Yona without needing to be convinced upon their first meeting. Zeno is interested in little other than food but his loyalty and kindness are extremely characteristic of the Virgo sign. These traits allow him to earn a spot on the bottom of our list.
8. Ryo Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh!
- Episodes: 27
- Aired: April 1998 - October 1998
Ryo Bakura has a split personality because of the Millennium Ring that he was entrusted to guard. His other side is hidden inside the ring and is incredibly powerful, this individual is named Yami Bakura. Both characters are very diligent in their duties and seek to make the world a better and safer place. However, because of the power of the ring it is difficult to maintain an accurate view of the world. The two presences have similar views though Yami is much stronger. The traits of both allow Ryo Bakura a place on our list.
7. Kakeru Naruse from Orange
- Episodes: 13
- Aired: July 2016 - September 2016
Kakeru Naruse is a depressive individual. He seeks to bear his feelings on his own without any help from his friends. He is loyal but doesn’t want to cause any problems or concern the people that he hangs out with despite their apparent loyalty towards everyone in the group. Naruse is shy and is generally timid in all of his interactions. Despite his opening up slowly over the course of the anime, he is never able to truly show all of himself to his friends. This shyness is characteristic of Virgos and earns him a spot on our list.
6. Ruka Urushibara from Steins;Gate
- Episodes: 24
- Aired: April 2011 - September 2011
Ruka may fall to the wayside a bit when watching through Steins;Gate because he is not one of the characters that we see often. This pretty guy turned girl turned guy again is not one that is full of book smarts. However, he does have other talents and is always seen working on either a skill or keeping the temple in order when Kyoma comes to visit. He is kind and loyal to his friends and has high expectations of himself. Although he often feels unhelpful to those around him, he is able to build them up through his high spirits. These traits allow him a spot on our list.
5. Hideki Motosuwa from Chobits
- Episodes: 26
- Aired: April 2002 - September 2002
While Hideki Motosuwa often is seen as somewhat of a horn dog, he is a truly honest and kind person. Though he is sexually charged, he often thinks of others needs before his own which can cause problems to arise for him. Despite these negative side effects, he will continue on a path that anyone would admire. He is not the most studious individual on this list which leads him to a spot in the middle of it.
4. Minato Sahashi from Sekirei
- Episodes: 12
- Aired: July 2008 - September 2008
Minato is incredibly intelligent for his age; however, he cripples under pressure so his test taking ability is dismal to say the least. When it comes to plans that involve his Sekirei, he excels. He is able to use their skills to the best of his ability and can overcome any opponent. He is kind to his Sekirei and allows them to live their own lives and have their own personalities within his unwilling harem. However, he does not take advantage of any of them and prioritizes their safety over his own. These traits put him high on our list of top Virgo males.
3. Junichi Hashiba from Hajimete no Gal (My First Girlfriend is a Gal)
- Episodes: 10
- Aired: July 2017 - September 2017
Junichi is a very timid individual and is very nervous about expressing his emotions, particularly to Yukana Yume. Junichi is an excellent example of how Virgos can excel in relationships. They are loyal and as timid and nervous as they can be, it is overshadowed by their kind nature. While Junichi can be incredibly critical of himself, particularly when interacting with others, he also holds those around him to high expectations and hold them in high regard. Junichi Hashiba is an excellent example of an admirable Virgo.
2. Suguru Oomi from Hiiro no Kakera (Hiiro no Kakera: The Tamayori Princess Saga)
- Episodes: 13
- Aired: April 2012 - June 2012
The guardians that protect the princess are extremely diligent in their duties but none are more so than Suguru Oomi. He is more reserved than the other guardians but this allows him to be constantly vigilant and observe every situation. While he is rather guarded about his past, he holds onto some resentment about the fate of his late mother. While Suguru is faithful in fulfilling his destiny, he is not as easily accepting as the other guardians and does so while constantly questioning everything though this takes place behind the scenes. His loyal and reserved attitude earns him a top spot on our list.
1. Kakashi Hatake from Naruto
- Episodes: 220
- Aired: October 2002 - February 2007
For Kakashi, patience is definitely a virtue that he possesses. He follows the rules adamantly and teaches his students to do the same. While he is extremely powerful in his ninja abilities, he is humble about his powers. Upon entering adulthood, he has a dull, lackluster personality that makes him sometimes fade into the background and when he shows his strength, he is that much more apparent. Kakashi is loyal and practical. His approach to situations and analytical thinking give him the upper hand against any opponent that he faces. He is an admirable Virgo and represents the major traits of one in both his strengths and weaknesses.
Final Thoughts
Virgos are definitely a force to be reckoned with. Their success academically allows them to retain a lot of information and their shy nature allows them to be extremely observant. These traits are present in all Virgos, but it is up to the individuals to decide whether they want to draw upon these traits to the best of their ability. Their studiousness and seriousness they show towards work can be discouraged by others because they allow it to rule their lives. It is important to balance their social and work lives to maintain the appropriate balance. Virgos can be exceptional individuals and this list is comprised of the males in anime that display these traits best.
We hope that you have enjoyed our list of the top 10 male Virgos. As always, if you have any questions or comments about this article’s topic or its picks, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below.
