A lot of individuals tend to get mixed up quite a bit when they hear the mention of the term smut, so Honey’s Anime will make sure to alleviate the situation. Smut is a genre that primarily focuses on the shoujo audience with it’s over the top love, girliness, and so forth, but throws in various mature themes to really keep the reader involved. These mature themes can range from sexual acts performed, to the more serious issues pertaining to abuse and infidelity. While some may find these themes offensive, mind you there are cultural differences pertaining to the context inside the manga, so keep an open mind when sifting through the pages. Let us take a look at some of the best smut manga out there and see who manages to take the top spot!
10. Ai no Koe
- Mangaka: Hazuki, Kanae
- Genres: Adult, Drama, Josei, Romance, School Life, Smut
- Volumes: 1
- Published: 2006
Ai no Koe is a manga that consists of four short stories that all have their own romantic setting, and take place in different environments. One which we’ll look at is Voices of Love that looks at the life of Mika Tsukahara, a teacher, who gets involved into a relationship with an 18-year old student named Naokazu Kuga at school. The two are actually neighbours and just can’t seem to keep their emotions in tact when around one another, and so the sexual adventures begin.
Much like the first short story of Ai no Koe, there’s always some theme that pops up that makes the reader question what’s taking place. In the case of Voices of Love, you clearly have a large age gap between the two individuals, but that clearly doesn’t stop them from engaging in sexual acts. Things get steamy in the other stories as well and largely focus on strong romantic encounters which lead to some random outcomes, but while we could spill the goods on everything, we think it’s best for you to find out!
9. Cosplay Animal
- Mangaka: Sakou, Watari
- Genres: Comedy, Romance, Shoujo, Smut
- Volumes: 14
- Published: April 2004 - June 2010
Rika is in her last year of being a teenager and really loves the cosplay culture, with highschool cosplay being her main theme. One night while at home skimming through the singles of an online dating site, she comes across a high school student named Hajime. The two hit it off quite well and so the two decide to meet up, with Rika pretending to be a highschool student in hopes that it would somehow keep Hajime attracted. With so much running through her mind, she questions whether or not this kinky relationship will even sustain itself over time.
Similar to Voices of Love in Ai no Koe, Rika finds herself in the arms of a much younger man but for some reason it stimulates her to the point where she can’t let go. So much happens further into the chapters when new characters are then introduced which then create this crazy love triangle, and it’s now become a contest to see who can make the strongest moves. It’s your quintessential shoujo smut with all of the extra perks to keep you guessing, so be sure to pick this one up.
8. Desire Climax

The boy who seems to fancy Mio is known as Shoei, who’s known to be quite abusive in relationships and is known by his peers as Prince. Due to Mio’s weak will and family situation Shoei exploits this by taking advantage of her, but somehow Mio finds all of it arousing and lets him do what he pleases. Add in some other questionable moments such as kidnappings along with abuse, and you have yourself a soap opera in book form.

Her dream comes true one day when she comes face to face with a handsome boy named Ouji, and from this moment her fate changes forever.
While divorce is something that has become quite the trend in our generation, it’s still an issue that can’t be ignored as emphasized throughout this manga. Without throwing too much out there, the story starts to get real crazy once the real identity of Ouji is revealed and Naeko’s life starts to take a trip where she doesn’t want to be, but inevitably has to conspire with it all since she gives in to Ouji’s sexual desires.

If sex is something you enjoy, which we presume you do since you’re human, then Kaikan Phrase is sure to be right up your alley in that category. If sex was a liquid, Kaikan Phrase would must surely overfill your cup because there’s just so much of it that it may be hard to handle at times. It’s essentially love at first sight that immediately finds its way to the bedroom minutes after introduction, with the odd interruption of other jealous male characters who desperately try to manipulate and destroy the relationship along the way.

Just how long will she be able to maintain her professional attitude, knowing that Kyohei now has her in his sights?
Kaya is pretty straight forward and knows how to handle herself quite well in the series, but once Kyohei starts to throw the bait to grab her attention she simply can’t resist the temptation. The two hit it off quite well and Kaya states that she’s willing to what it takes to make it work out, despite Kyohei being quite possessive, a playboy, and abrasive at times. Kyohei has learned from his past dealing with other women, and so he truly tries to make this relationship work, often times making huge sacrifices for her. It’s a very intriguing story of human and non-human courting each other in hopes that their love will blossom despite their differences.
