The rivalry between Dr. Eggman and Sonic is quite interesting. 7. Akuma from Street Fighter V

Taking the number 7 spot on the list we have Akuma from one of Capcom’s most famous fighting video game franchise, Street Fighter. There are a unique design and backstory behind this villain, from its name, ‘Akuma’ if directly translated from Japanese, means ‘Devil’ or ‘Demon’. Akuma is known to wear a sleeveless gi, and have a muscular body.
His most notable ability is that he is extremely focused on mastering the arts of Satsui no Hado, or Dark Hado, a powerful dark energy-based force. For one to acquire and harness the power of Dark Hado, he/she must have a strong desire to win, very much so that is not afraid of killing or be killed. However, it is also known to affect one’s mind, as it causes the user to lose their humanity, which would explain how Akuma became so evil.
6. Orochimaru from Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4
- System/Platform: PS4, XBO, PC
- Publisher: Bandai Namco Games
- Developer: CyberConnect2
- Release Date: Feb 9, 2016
‘Rasengan!’ ‘Chidori!’ ‘Raikiri!’ If these 3 words don't sound like complete gibberish to you, then it’s safe to assume that you probably have watched the action packed ninja-themed anime Naruto. Taking the number 6 spot is none other than the villain in Naruto, Orochimaru himself. Although there are other villains besides Orochimaru, this character seemed to stick with fans of the series.
In terms of personality, you would notice that Orochimaru is very cunning and evil, and talks in a ‘slithery’ way, which is due to his snake-like nature and appearance. If you follow the storyline, Orochimaru betrayed the Village he grew up in, which is why he is truly a ‘snake’. But, although he might be a snake, you’d still respect him for what he is capable of.

In the game, Ultimecia is said to be a very powerful sorceress, and her goal is to become a living god by compressing all time and space. Getting closer with the countdown, we have Bowser the main villain from the prestigious Mario Bros. game! The game itself is very interesting and managed to capture the hearts of many. Although the story and character design aren't as grand as the rest of the previous entries, the character of the villain makes up for it. The entire story is about a plumber who doesn’t have any superpowers sets out to defeat Bowser, a fire-breathing demon with a spiky shell on its back.
You’d have to admit that this villain is much simpler, so to speak, but nonetheless, it became one of the most iconic villains in the history of video games. Besides, if Bowser didn’t exist, who would’ve kidnapped Princess Peach? In a way, Mario kind of exists because of Bowser, because nobody else would have rescued the damsel in distress.
2. Xehanort from Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX
- System/Platform: PS3
- Publisher: Square Enix
- Developer: Square Enix
- Release Date: Oct 16, 2012
This next villain came that close to taking the number 1 spot, we have Xehanort from Kingdom Hearts! If you are not familiar with this awesome game from Square Enix, then you should really try and play the game. The game is about a boy named Sora and his adventures to free the world from Heartless. The most unique thing about it is the Kingdom Hearts world is a giant crossover from many other franchises. You will see characters like Donald and Goofy from Disney, or even Squall Leonhart and Cloud Strife from the Final Fantasy series.
The series built a quite complicated storyline and putting Xehanort, who was a Keyblade Master to become the main antagonist of the series really spiced things up. It’s very interesting to see how the Master himself harbor hidden agendas. But nonetheless, whoever played the game would know how twisted the plot is, yet still fun to play.

Of course, the protagonist Cloud Strife has his own appeal, but fans didn’t forget about Sephiroth, Cloud’s rival/nemesis.
What makes Sephiroth such a great villain is the vibe you get from this character is quite overwhelming. His muscular appearance alongside with his cold demeanor towards everyone around him is just so fitting for this character. It’s everything that the fans had hoped for in a villain. The badass, the strength, the power, all into a villain called Sephiroth.
