Introduction
We at Honey’s Anime are all about inclusion, and so is Every Day Life with Monster Girls. The Japan we get to know in this world is a progressive haven as the first country to promote the integration of human and non-human species -- e.g. monsters. The exchange program is run by bureaucracy and inevitably, like all bureaucracies, the pencil pushers screw up. Kimihito Kurusu a.k.a. Darling-kun (as he is called during the entire series to the extent that if you look it’s how he’s listed on the homestay coordinator’s cellphone) is the victim of the administration’s errant instructions; a Lamia named Miia is placed in his care. A Lamia is a woman whose bottom half is a snake and the top half human. Kimihito seems to adjust to his new life as homestay host with the overly affectionate Miia quickly. Unfortunately, Darling-kun’s life is quickly turned upside down as a slim girl, centaur girl, harpy, spider woman, and mermaid all move in -- each with her own plans for his affection in Everyday Life with Monster Girls.
5. Episode 1 Everyday life with a Lamia
We open to a close-up of a Darling-kun and Miia cuddling in bed. He gently tries to wake her, telling her it’s time to get up. The scene is quite sweet. We watch their shadows as one is snuggling closer to the other, begging for five more minutes and five more degrees of warmth. As a Lamia, Miia is cold-blooded and has decided that coiling herself around her homestay host is the best way to stay warm. He offers to go draw her a bath, but she prefers to hold him close. She presses his face to, or should we say in-between, her breasts, and inadvertently begins to smother him. The situation only grows more dire as she falls back asleep and coils tighter and tighter around him, cutting off his circulation. He is in a panic, grasping for anything, finally seizing on the tip of her tail and getting an immediate and vocal response. He begins to stroke the tip of her tail, which the now awake Miia, exclaims is very sensitive and not to do it too rough. The stroking continues until she says she can’t take any more and climaxes. The first 2 minutes and 16 seconds of this anime has a snake girl lose control, making the first scene the fifth on our list of ecchi scenes.
4. Episode 2 Everyday Life with a Harpy and Centaur
The morning was going as close to normal as it could for Darling-kun considering he’s living with a Lamia. He and Miia were hanging laundry on the balcony when he was abducted by a harpy. A harpy is a bird-like girl with wings for arms and claws for feet. The harpy, named Papi, is also not very smart and looks a little like a child (harpies have small bodies so they can fly). She abducts Darling-kun and forgets why. She does remember she ran away from the immigration service. Our ecchi moment happens after she drops the ice cream cone she was going to eat; her wings make handling things difficult. As she is on the ground in the public park crying, Darling-kun offers to let her have his ice cream on a stick. She opens her mouth and begins to suck on it, while still kneeling in front of the aforementioned Darling-kun. He, feeling uncomfortable, says she can just hold it, but she’s afraid she will drop it. He can feel the eyes of the public on him and knows what it looks like and pulls the ice cream out of her mouth, causing the melted droplets to get all over little Papi’s face. If you are old enough to be reading this post we won’t explain to you what it’s supposed to look like. You just need to know that it’s more than enough to earn a spot on this ecchi list.
3. Episode 3 Everyday Life Under Dangerous Circumstances
The Interspecies Exchange Bill is the law that allows the girls to live in Japan and with Darling-kun in particular. Darling-kun and the girls, Mia, Papi and Centorea (a centaur) have also been informed that an amendment to the bill is under consideration, an amendment that allows marriage between species. The agency that oversees the Interspecies Exchange has decided that to test out the idea, Darling-kun should marry one of his guests. Darling-kun is shocked, but for Miia it’s an opening. She seeks out Darling-kun in his room at night, explaining that when Lamias mate they mate all night long, coiling themselves around each other until they lose themselves. She sticks out her long tongue and begins to lick his chest. The moment is quickly interrupted by Papi crashing through the window and knocking Miia out. She then pins Darling-kun to the ground and straddles him; he notices that she doesn’t have underwear on and she explains that it’s so they can mate and lay eggs. Centorea comes in and knocks Papi off of Darling-kun and explains it’s because of the full moon which makes monsters susceptible to their base instincts. He thinks he’s safe since the centaur is the most level-headed of the bunch, until Centorea tries to get him to fondle her, explaining she is his and he has the right to do whatever he wants to her. The night for him is literally touch-and-go for a while, and that is why this scene is landing at number three on our ecchi list.
2. Episode 5 Everyday Life with a Mermaid
We need to give you a little information for this scene to make sense. A character added to the growing harem is Suu. Suu is a slime. Suu has the simple instincts of a child and often does things that can simply be seen as wrong. Suu is dependent on moisture to maintain her form. If Suu is dried out, she can fit in a little beach pail and actually looks cute–for a slime. Miia, Papi, Suu, and Centorea are hiding in the park when Suu lunges out of the small pail that Papi is carrying her in and begins to envelop her. Suu’s face begins to take its more adult form as she begins to suck the moisture and sweat off of Papi’s body. The slime girl’s tentacles, on instinct, mold to and probe Papi’s body, trying to find every drop of moisture on her small frame. We get some very suggestive frames as Suu covers Papi’s lower half and some soft erotic moaning from the harpy as Suu’s probing causes her to be aroused and very close to losing control so to speak. We chose this ecchi scene for its interesting version of tentacle play and girl-on-girl action, even if they are a non-human species.
1. Episode 6 Everyday Life with Shedding and Egg Laying
Miia has been acting weird (or a least weird for what we’ve grown accustomed to). She seems to be suffering mood swings, and after a disastrous attempt at making dinner for Darling-kun she burns her hands. She locks herself in her room with her hands bandaged. It doesn’t take long for Darling-kun to get to the bottom of what was going on; Miia the half-snake girl was shedding. With her hands burnt and bandaged, she couldn’t take care of removing the shedding skin herself, and for Lamia shedding is a very personal and embarrassing thing. She has to rely on her beloved Darling-kun to peel off the dead skin before it gets infected. The scene plays out as you might imagine, with Darling-kun carefully pulling off the skin. Our ecchi moments are courtesy of the new skin being extremely sensitive. We watch and listen as each piece of skin is gently peeled and Miia moans and squirms. We even hear Darling-kun’s inner monologue as he tells himself to “think innocent thoughts.” Due to Miia’s embarrassment, Darling-kun is blindfolded and has to take verbal directions from Miia. We’ll just say his fingers should have zigged instead of zagging and caused Miia to Zigazig Ah! The creativity of turning the shedding of skin into a very sexual scene gives this moment the number one spot on our list.
Final Thoughts
The idea of waking up with your girlfriend wrapped around you takes on a whole different meaning when she part constrictor snake. At times we feel for Darling-kun, though his ability to withstand the physical punishment he faces does seem to be super-human. The story construction is slice-of-life and the cast of characters seems to expand episode by episode, but it works for this anime that never seems to take itself too seriously. You most of all laugh at the antics of the overly obsessive girls in his life. Everyday life with Monster Girls is a genuine ecchi rom-com romp with plenty of moments that just beg to be uncensored.
