Introduction
Summer is close. In fact, shows start this weekend! We are almost out of time! So then, with that, what is good? Well, we recently published a Top 10 summer anime that we are hype for and it was very popular on the site. Many users checked it out. So, again today, we are here to talk about even more summer anime that we are looking forward to. We will give you a sneak peek and then it is up to you to make the decision. These are more that did not make it into the initial top 10 that we created, but you can bet your money that we are going to be watching the shows that we have listed here.
1. Centaur no Nayami (Centaur’s Worries)
Himeno is your average high school girl. She has to worry about her tests, her friends, her body as she matures, and of course, a romantic interest maybe. Oh! And let’s not forget to mention too that she is also part of a club too, so she has club activities after school. She often says though “I am human, but I am not”. What does that mean? You see, Himeno is actually a centaur. She and her friends are not fully human. They could be part lamia, part goat, part angel, part devil and many more! This anime will focus on high school struggles but maybe as a bit different as the characters are not your cookie cutter humans.
Centaur no Nayami is not going to be some earth-shatteringly good anime, though if it did, I would be thrilled, but instead will twist the comedy, slice of life setup to make it a bit more interesting. I can already tell that there are going to be boob jokes galore. Nothing to get your blood running, but I definitely have this on my radar. Encourage films is on this and they are doing Hitorijime My Hero as well at the same time, so I hope both do well.

2. Jikan no Shihaisha (Chronos Ruler)
Shihaisha follows the story of Vict, who has had his time stolen. Now it may sound a bit out there, but in the world of Jikan no Shihaisha, there are devils that exist that can consume human time. So, as a response, rulers of time are created who can fight against the devils and recover this time lost. Vict can control time using cards and his partner Kiri is able to control time via water. Together they are traveling together to get back Vict’s lost time.
This already feels a bit like Vatican Kiseki Chousakan, so you know I am already on board. This too kinda, from the PV, looks like it is going to be similar to D.Gray-man. Supernatural fights are like half of the reason why I watch anime and from what has been previewed so far, it looks like we have something to look forward to so far!

3. Hajimete no Gal
Set in a high school, this ecchi romcom follows Junichi Hashiba as he has one goal: He wants to lose his virginity. He is extremely normal though so he has zero game. He decides to use a get-laid-quick scheme and goes after the gyaru in his class Yukana. He confesses his “feelings” to her and he is in! Or so he thinks. Even though she may have a worldly exterior, Yukana is actually completely chaste. And so while Junichi thinks that he is about to get his sexy game on, in reality, Yukana is going to have him on a leash and tease him constantly!
This is already going to be ecchi which is a check mark for me. Then you have the fact that the power roles are reversed because Junichi wants to be the manslut but Yukana is pure and innocent–another check mark–,and then you have what is very clearly going to be girls around him that will cause him to overheat and get shy leading to hilarious circumstances. This has a great setup and I plan to get some popcorn and laugh my way through the episodes.

4. Princess Principal
Princess Principal is about students attending a school at the end of the 1800s. Set in London, but in a fictitious kingdom, the girls of this story are attending the prestigious academy Queen’s Mayfair. There, they uphold tradition and formality in accordance with their studies. But that is not all they study. These girls are also studying espionage and routinely take jobs. Disguises, infiltration, information gathering and more are what these girls excel at. They are living, breathing, walking lies.
Man, summer is really being generous with all of these anime with lolis. Also, before I say anything else, hello improved Joker Game. JG was terrible, but this, this for some reason seems to hold promise. Honestly too, and I am not one to care too much about outfits in anime, the unique disguises are something that they have really actually tried on for this anime. Be sure to check out their disguises on our database page below. I have this on my must watch list and I am really hoping that this comes through with an excellent story.

5. Konbini Kareshi
Who’s ready for a whole load of bishounen? I for one sure am. Just look at them. Every single one of them, beautiful. This is what anime is all about. Hmm? Plot? Oh yeah. That. This is going to be one of those laid-back slice-of-life anime with a touch of romance. Basically, our gorgeous boys are all in high school, and each of them has a high-school girl by their side in some way, whether they’re interested in them, the girl has a one-sided crush, or everyone just assumes that they’re a couple.
If you like your boys to be alone or gay, I know how you feel. But think of it like this - we get to see them in all sorts of adorable romantic situations that we might not be able to see otherwise. The girls are pretty damn cute too, none of that UtaPri dead fish-eyed protag stuff here. If you like soft, pastel artwork, beautiful characters, and amazing seiyuu (and don’t mind the actionless slice of life) keep an eye out for this one!

6. Aho Girl
This anime looks hilarious and I can’t wait. Just looking at the visual, this anime instantly reminded me of Himouto! Umaru-chan, but without the perfect facade that Umaru-chan has. If you’re like me and love a genuinely stupid main character and plenty of comedy, this is one summer anime that should definitely be on your list. The story follows the idiotic Yoshiko and her group of “friends” (read: people who got stuck with her) and a massive dog. Bonus points for that.
With Aoi Yuuki playing Yoshiko and Tomokazu Sugita playing her friend/carer Akuru, we’ve got a great cast for some great characters here too. Oh, and the dog is played by Daisuke Namikawa. No, seriously. If there’s one thing I’m expecting from Aho Girl, it’s a whole lot of fun. Who doesn’t like fun?

7. Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou
As a massive fan of Natsume Yuujinchou, I am really looking forward to Youkai Apartment no Yuuga na Nichijou. As you can probably tell by now, I’m a sucker for slice of life elements and beautiful 2D boys. Oh, and would you look at that… This anime just happens to have both. It helps that there’s BL shipping potential here, too. Not so much that it’s in your face, but if you’re like me and love the gays, it might be time to dust off those shipping goggles for the two main childhood-friend characters.
Plot-wise, this anime follows Yuushi, a first-year high school student who feels guilty for staying with his relatives after the death of his own parents. So, he decides to go it alone in a sharehouse… Little does he know just who he will be sharing it with! That’s right, he soon comes face-to-face with a whole lot of youkai, and so his daily adventures with them begin. Sound good? Don’t miss out!

8. Ballroom e Youkoso (Welcome to the Ballroom)
Production I.G? Sports anime? Opening song by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN? If this doesn’t sound like a one-way ticket to entertainment street, I don’t know what does. Ballroom e Youkoso follows Tatara Fujita as he enters the world of ballroom dancing. That means lots of characters in gorgeous costumes, perfect hairstyles, and (hopefully) flowing animation à la Yuri!! on ICE. All good things for summer 2017!
Like with a lot of sports anime, I think the true highlight of this series will be the characters. Not only does the character design resemble that of Haikyuu!!, the individuality of the characters does, too. Watch the PV below and take a look for yourself, if you like the things I’ve mentioned before, you’re going to want to watch this one.
