Discussion Time

Yakusoku no Neverland chapter 162 almost felt like three separate stories in one epic chapter! The beginning focused on our two helpful demons Sonju and Mujika with the former having an idea to save the realm from being leaderless. The two travel to an old-looking cave wherein five almost statue-like demons exist. We learn from Sonju that these were ancient demons called the High Priest and Four Sages. Unlike most demons, they wanted peace and unity in the Neverland and tried their best to side on the way of keeping both races—human and demon—happy/healthy.

Unfortunately, they failed and hid away and have gone into an almost immobile state. Despite looking dead, the demons are still very much alive praying for the citizen’s wellbeing. Sonju’s plan is to use Mujika’s blood to revive them and let them rule the land with the kindness that still should be in their hearts! Elsewhere in the land, Peter Ratri—the leader of the clan—has now learned of the Queen’s death and is all but ecstatic. In his crazed mind, Peter believes this could be the end of the demons if they just wait for the opportune time to attack!

Our chapter concludes with him talking about Grace Field and behold, we see the familiar land from above in all of its strange hexagon-like form. The big surprise, though, is waiting within where we see some of those brought to this place—being held as hostages—meeting an old face…Isabella…or should we say Grandma Isabella!? That’s right folks, Yakusoku no Neverland chapter 162 was an intense entry in this mythical series and we could spend days going over our favorite parts. However, we’ll just focus on our two best elements of the chapter like always to ensure our readers check this 162nd volume out when they can!

Why You Should Read Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) Chapter 162

1. Revival Plan

Sonju and Mujika have a truly important mission handed to them by Emma, stop others from dying if at all possible! In many ways, this plan seemed all but impossible but maybe if Sonju’s plan to revive those with hearts not filled with lust/greed/gluttony works out then Neverland can find a new land of peace. We can’t wait for those very… thin demons to be revitalized and see if their hearts can truly accomplish what they once envisioned long ago.

2. Grandma Isabella!?!?

Isabella was a woman we thought was all but gone from the Yakusoku no Neverland story but it turns out we were wrong. She’s back and despite still looking to be young she now has the title of Grandma? Don’t worry, we have just as many questions as you but, for now, we can’t wait to see what this old character has for us in the story.

Final Thoughts

There were plenty of surprises in chapter 162 of Yakusoku no Neverland and we loved each one! We have our potential new leaders—who seem nice despite being living mummies at the moment—and Isabella has made a reappearance now as a grandma. Our minds are just spinning as these 20 pages were chock full of information we just can’t yet fully grasp! What do you think was the best part of chapter 162 of Yakusoku no Neverland?
