At first glance, Paul Greyrat seems like the ultimate dad. Not only does Paul have a sense of humor and understand his perverted son’s—Rudeus—mind he also seems like a strong warrior that kicks butt with a sword in hand. Unfortunately, Paul isn’t the greatest dad—as we learn throughout the series—and he is a cheater. Paul is despicable and while we know his actions later in the light novel are valiant—he does some heroic things—he still is a man who we lost respect for quite early in Jobless Reincarnation.

You Uei, from his introduction in Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, was a character we knew we would hate. This former young police officer was cruel as an officer and hasn’t changed much despite being encased in stone for 5000+ years. This wannabe tough officer hurt Chrome after his capture and that is a big no in our books. Hurting one of the best science guys from Dr. Stone is unforgivable and thus why You earns a place on our list!

We get the world of skateboarding can be tough and ruthless but Ainosuke Shindo—a.k.a. Adam—from SK8 The Infinity is a truly heartless skater. Not only does he dress like a villain but he also acts like one, hurting others while skating and coming across as overly arrogant and cruel. When he becomes Adam—his skating name—he is even worse than his businessman persona and that is truly shocking. Adam even hurt Reki during a battle and laughed it off as if it was expected! Ainosuke is a lowlife and he reminds us that rules need to exist in every sport for the reasons of sportsmanship!

Uncle to Shiki, Akio Tademaru hands down has to be one of the most vile characters we’ve seen in Kemono Jihen. Despite his initial appearance of being kind and loveable, Akio is a truly cruel soul who isn’t afraid to exploit his poor nephew for his powers. Akio experiments on poor Shiki and his mother Kumi hoping to reach his goals. Akio is the definition of scum and to say he’s one of the worst parental figures in anime might not be enough for him.

Attack on Titan has produced some truly dislikable characters but the final season has truly unleashed upon us the worst of the worst. Despite being only a child, Gabi Braun—related to Reiner—is without a doubt the most despised character from the winter 2021 anime lineup. Not only does Gabi kill one of our favorite female characters—we won’t spoil who here—but she tends to be a more annoying version of younger Eren Jaeger. We don’t condone hating kids but this is anime and of all the kids we’ve ever seen in anime, Gabi might be one of the few we hate the most.
