5 Ghoul Girls In the Last Five Years

Ghouls are one of the most fascinating creatures around. Being very similar to zombies, ghouls are flesh-eating monsters that have a more supernatural origin. In the world of anime, we don't get to experience ghouls that often, but when we do, they are also some amazing characters. Today we are going to be looking at some of the best of the best as we look at five ghoul girls that have been in anime over the last five years. Let's get started.

1. Rize Kamishiro from Tokyo Ghoul

Rize is one of the most famous anime ghouls and is the first ghoul to show up in Tokyo Ghoul. Rize dies and finds herself living on the inside of Kaneki. While most of her story is told through Kaneki, what makes Rize a fun character is just how vicious she is. Rize became one of the strongest ghouls in the entire city and would often use her womanly wiles to trick and eat men. Even after she is connected to Kaneki, her desires push him forward and allow him to gain new levels of power.

2. Rita from Shingeki no Bahamut:Genesis

Rita is a 200-year-old and the sole survivor of the Nebelville massacre that wiped out her entire village. Although she is technically a zombie, Rita has many traits that make her similar to a ghoul. Despite having been transformed, Rita keeps her sanity unlike the other zombies around her and she also gains incredible power after her transformation. While she has immense power thanks to her undead abilities and her skills as a necromancer, Rita has instead devoted her long life to perfecting her skills as a doctor and helping anybody who needs her expertise.

3. Dream Bell Girl from GeGeGe no Kitaro

The Dream Bell Girl is a girl that Kitaro and his friends meet who uses the powers of the Bell of Dream Control, to drag people's souls into the Dream World. Typical Dream Bell Girl looks like an ordinary child in order to lure people into the dream world, but her true form is much more sinister. Dream Bell Girl has a tragic backstory involving her death and her eventually ending up in the Dream World and obtaining Makura-Gaeshi's Bell. Even though she spends her time manipulating people and killing them, you can't help but feel bad for her. However, even after being defeated by Kitaro's group and having her bell broken, she still has plans to trap people inside of the Dream World.

4. Bela from BEM

Bela is a youkai with some traits very similar to those of a ghoul. Just like her allies, Bem and Belo, Bela was born as a monster with incredible powers, but instead of using them attack humans, she decided she wanted to become a human instead. Bela is able to take on a human form and she tries her best to live a normal human life while also fighting against the other monsters that show up around the city. Outside of the flesh-eating, Bela has everything you see in a typical ghoul character. What makes her different from a lot of characters is that she hates her powers and she desperately just wants to be normal. This adds a whole another layer to her character and makes her so much more interesting that most monster girls.

5. Saiko Yonebayashi from Tokyo Ghoul:re

Saiko is a special half-human half-ghoul known as a Quinx. Born a human, Saiko gained the powers of a ghoul after having a Kakuhou implanted into her body. Saiko works as a ghoul investigator tasked with defeating the ghouls that show up around Tokyo. What makes Saiko one of the more interesting ghoul characters is that she has all of the powers of a ghoul without having the downsides to being a ghoul. This gives her such a different feeling than all of the characters we have looked at and gives us another great type of ghoul character to enjoy.
