Golden Wind Preview (No Spoilers)

Giorno Giovanna and Bruno Bucciarati intend to reform the Italian gang Passione from the inside to make Naples a safer place to live. They run into trouble when the gang’s boss, who is notoriously secretive about his identity, asks them to escort his daughter Trish to him in a remote location. Trish herself has no memory of her father and no idea why he wants to see her. What exactly is the boss up to?

Trish Highlights (Spoilers Beyond This Point)

1. Unfazed by Mafia Life

She may be just a normal 15-year-old girl with no experience in combat or crime, but Trish takes to the mafia life quite easily. Even before she joins up with Bucciarati’s gang, she holds her own undercover as a janitor with Pericolo. And the first thing she does after being handed over is ordering the hardened gang members to buy groceries and magazines for her. She does show some trepidation when the stakes get higher and she has to fight for herself, but her tenacity keeps her going no matter what.

2. Impeccable Fashion Sense

Vento Aureo is filled with bold fashion choices, even by JoJo standards. Things like Bucciarati and Giorno’s chest windows, Abbacchio’s goth look, and whatever the hell Diavolo is wearing tend to toe the line between fashionable and tacky. But Trish rides above all of that with a simple style that packs a lot of punch.

Her main outfit is an asymmetrical crop top and a long skirt decorated with mathematical symbols in complementing colors. It goes well with her ‘90s-style punk pixie haircut and gives her an elegant air compared to the loud gangsters she pals around with.

3. Spice Girl is a Boss

Trish’s talking stand, Spice Girl, manifests partway through the story and helps guide her through tough situations. In the airplane battle against Notorious B.I.G., Trish is the only one left who can face the growing monstrosity of a stand. With its softening ability, Spice Girl is able to trap the stand and hurtle it out of the plane to save everyone.

It’s also unusual that a female JoJo character would have a close-range power-type stand. Characters like Yasuho and Hot Pants are smart and capable but have to use their wits rather than raw strength to succeed. It’s fun to see Trish use Spice Girl to punch things into submission just like her male counterparts.

4. Defies Her Father and Lives to Tell the Tale

Diavolo, the boss of Passione and Trish’s father, is so protective of his identity that anyone who even tries to figure it out will be executed on the spot. She doesn’t know anything about him but hopes that meeting him will clear up some mysteries or at least guarantee her safety.

Unfortunately, Diavolo sees his daughter as a dangerous loose end that has no business running around alive. When Bucciarati saves Trish and decides to defy the boss and take him out, Trish joins him right away and does all she can to help. And at the end of the story, she is one of the few survivors of the final battle.

5. Forges a Cute Friendship with Mista

Hanging out with a bunch of rowdy gangsters all day isn’t Trish’s cup of tea, but she puts up with it for the greater good. But when Chariot Requiem switches her body with Mista’s, she’s downright horrified that she has to be so hairy and smelly.

Mista takes it pretty hard since he’s had a crush on Trish since the beginning. After they work together in the final battle, though, the two come to an understanding and actually joke around together about the whole situation. It may or may not be romantic, but it’s definitely cute.

Final Thoughts

Trish Una is the only prominent female character in all of Vento Aureo, and we’re glad that she and her stand make such a big impression. She’s a classy Italian lady with an iron will that only grows stronger as she survives one life-threatening battle after another.

What did you think of our analysis? Do you think Trish is as unflappable and cool as we do? How does she compare to other female JoJo characters? Let us know in the comments, and thanks so much for reading!
