Binge the 1st Seasons of These Anime Before 2021 Adds New Content!

2021 has been a good year for anime, but it's not done yet! In addition to the new titles that have become favorites this year, we also have returning champions coming back for another season. Since these titles are not out yet, the Summer is the perfect time for a rewatch! Here are some of our highly-anticipated titles that you can expect to see later this year.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Season 2 (The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2)

The Rising of the Shield Hero (or Shield Hero) is the isekai adventure of Naofumi, who opened a book and was unwillingly summoned to another, more magical, world. Naofumi and four others are summoned as heroes of legend, each with a weapon to help protect the country. The other heroes are summoned with a spear, bow, and sword, but Naofumi is called into the world wielding a shield. Unfortunately, this unusual "weapon" is not followed or cared about as much as the others, so in addition to having a rough start, Naofumi has a lousy perception issue.

The end of season 1 was so satisfying that it ended with Naofumi going through the adventure with the harem that followed him around and deciding that his heart and interests were in the new world. It looked like a tidy ending where the character made the existential decision to stay. Coming this October, it looks like we will get to see how Naofumi's adventure continues. This story of someone who starts from the bottom is a favorite troupe, and we know the adventure and the laughs will continue this next season.

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon S (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S)

Kiss Kobayashi's life is turned upside down when this ever-working salary woman finds her home to a dragon named Tohru, who offers to be her live-in maid. In season one, Tohru was joined by another dragon Kanna, and then several dragons later, their friends had also moved to this world. So get ready to laugh even more when Miss Kobayashi, Tohru, and all their dragon friends return for the next season of this series, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S.

In this season, you can look forward to new dragons and new friends. Kanna is still attending school, Miss Kobayashi is still working, and Tohru's strange dragon dad that appeared at the end of season one, seems to be kept at bay. If you happen to have only watched Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid in English, here's a protip for your rewatch- there is one episode of this show available on Crunchyroll that was never translated into English or released on Funimation. Enjoy the first season again now, because new episodes are expected this Summer!

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen (Demon Slayer: Season 2)

Demon Slayer is an excellent series. It immediately caught the attention and hearts of the entire shounen-loving anime fan base. The Demon Slayer Movie, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train, was the next arc, and the choice to take all of that scenery that never changes and make it into a movie was to spectacular effect. Next, season two continues to take the path of the manga. Our favorite trio of demon slayers finds themselves supporting the Sound hashira, Tengen Uzui. They go to the red light district of all places and explore suspected demon activity while undercover as new geisha apprentices!

Since it does not appear in the Summer lineups, we can confidently say that if it is coming in 2021, we will see it when the Fall season comes in October. If you catch up with season one, you have platforms to do it on! If the Demon Slayer Movie is not a title you watched while it was in theaters, do not worry if you cannot stream it before season two comes out. The story will not have any crucial information missing from the movie.

100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru (I'm standing on a million lives.) Season 2

This title is our list's Dark Horse. The main character finds himself isekai'd away with two girls from his school. Yuusuke Yotsuya receives what feels like game instructions from a character called Game Master and rolls for class. Yuusuke disappoints the group when he turns out to be a farmer rather than a mage or a warrior, but he is ruthless and cunning with his enemies. After an adventure, the group goes back home. Every time Game Master summons the group, their party grows by one until it will hit ten people. Our heroes have a small vision of being involved in chaos in their future, but they do not yet know what it means.

Season one ends with ending a task and learning something about their alternate world that shakes everyone. Through their lens of experience seems like a game, all lives taken and pain inflicted is real. Yuusuke weighs this against the evil he has now committed to survive. With personal strong ethical issues immediately ahead and world-ending problems foretold in the future, season two is bound to involve the main characters trying to steer clear of dying as a group, clever ways to solve problems, and more of a unique and interesting storyline. I'm Standing on a Million Lives' season 2 is expected to debut in July of 2021!
