Having gathered all of the Clow Cards which brought about a calamity on this world, Sakura used her magical powers to turn them into her own cards. Now, with the cherry blossoms in full bloom, she has advanced to her first year of middle school. There, she reunites with Syaoran who returned from Hong Kong, and for a transient moment, they happily attended school together. However, one evening, there is an unusual phenomenon with the gathered cards…! Mysterious happenings begin to repeatedly occur in Tomoeda Town. Guided by the “key” that she encountered in a dream, she has to once again, gather the cards. In the middle of all of this, a new girl transfers into her class...

Cardcaptor Sakura is back! It’s been too long. With the return, we still have the same seiyuu and the art is comparable, but the series has been given a slight facelift with the advance of technology. Sakura, Syaoran, and Tomoyo are all now in middle school. After she has a strange dream one night, her key changes and all of the Clow Cards turn transparent. She now has to go and search for the new Clow Cards and re-collect them! When you compare the two, the Clear Card Hen and the originals feel like they are the same. The voice acting really nails it home that the new series has not strayed far from the original. It does feel a pinch rushed as she is confronting two cards an episode sometimes, but the story never feels dry.
