Synopsis
Along with the disasters of unprecedented spacequakes, young women known as “spirits” have manifested from another dimension. Humankind continues to deal with these spirits, who possess abilities that rival the destructive power of a calamity. To fight back against the spirits, humanity has two possible options—to obliterate them with military force or to date them and make them fall in love!
Shido Itsuka is a young man with extraordinary powers. Once a spirit falls in love with him and shows affection, trust, closeness, or intimacy, he is able to seal their spirit power with a kiss and transfer it to himself. By suppressing the immense spirit power that lies at the heart of the conflict and sometimes using this power to protect the spirits, Shido has saved Touka Yatogami and many others.
Several decades have passed since the first spirits appeared before mankind. The relationship between humans and spirits and how to deal with them have also unknowingly changed.
Though Shido has saved numerous spirits, many are still unaccounted for. Now, others are facing off against the spirits by using different means than Shido and the spirit saving organization Ratatoskr. Thus ripping the short-lived tranquility apart.
Once again, Shido must date to save the world!

Shido Itsuka: Nobunaga Shimazaki
A second-year student at Raizen High School in Tengu City. He possesses a special ability that allows him to seal a spirit’s power inside his body with a kiss. Be that as it may, his life generally centers around taking care of the spirits, who have become like a large family to him. His housework and cooking skills are far superior to those of an average high schooler. Struggling to free spirits from the regrettable fate that they have been dealt, he receives backup from his foster sister Kotori, a commanding officer within Ratatoskr.
Tohka Yatogami: Marina Inoue
The first spirit that Shido saved. She’s brutally beautiful and has an innocent, child-like free-spirited personality. She loves Shido, his home cooking, and kinako bread. Just like Shido, she is kind-hearted, honest and has a pure sense of justice. She often helps Shido in his efforts to save other spirits. She can manifest the Angel Sandalphon.
Origami Tobiichi: Misuzu Togashi
Shido’s classmate. On one hand, she’s what you would call the perfect girl—a clear thinker, good at every sport, stylish and attractive. When it comes to Shido, however, she’s pathological...er, abnormally fixated on him. This stems from being saved by Shido as a child. She was originally a member of AST, an organization that seeks to eliminate spirits, but due to a certain incident, she became a spirit and was once again saved by Shido. She can manifest the Angel Metatron.
Kotori Itsuka: Ayana Taketatsu
Shido’s sister and a commander within Ratatoskr, an organization whose goal is to free spirits from their cycle of death and rebirth through peaceful discourse. She is also a spirit who can use healing flames. She provides support to Tohka and the other spirits and her wish is for all spirits to be able to lead happy lives. She can manifest the Angel Camael.
Yoshino: Iori Nomizu
The second spirit that Shido saved. Her best friend Yoshinon, a hand puppet, is enshrined on her left hand. In contrast to Yoshino, who is withdrawn, Yoshinon is cheerful and speaks her mind freely. Yoshino is honest with Shido and shows him kind affection. Her presence is healing and Shido thinks the world of her. She can manifest the Angel Zadkiel.
Kurumi Tokisaki: Asami Sanada
She’s referred to as “the worst spirit.” Among the spirits, she is considered quite dangerous. She has the ability to control especially powerful spacequakes and is even willing to direct them at humans. However, she helps Shido whenever possible and it seems that she doesn’t call forth her power indiscriminately. She appears to be acting towards some kind of major goal and is relentless to those who bar her path. She can manifest the Angel Zafkiel.
Kaguya Yamai: Maaya Uchida
A spirit Shido saved on a school trip. She was split into two spirits and has the special ability to maximize her powers. Yuzuru, her other spirit, is like her twin sister. Kaguya tends to childishly exaggerate things and talk dramatically to sound cool, but underneath all of that she’s actually a kind person who cherishes her friends and Yuzuru. She appears to be honest at heart and when she panics, her speech returns to normal. She can manifest the Angel Raphael.
Yuzuru Yamai: Sarah Emi Bridcutt
A spirit that is Kaguya’s counterpart. In contrast to Kaguya, who fully expresses human emotions, Yuzuru talks in a monotone, almost robotic voice and often acts in a calm and collected manner. Though surprisingly, she seems to go with the flow and sometimes even teases her impulsive counterpart. They both care about each other and every now and then Yuzuru tries to be like Kaguya and express her emotions. She can manifest the Angel Raphael.
Miku Izayoi: Minori Chihara
A spirit that also performs as an idol under the stage name Tsukino Yoimachi. She loves cute girls and she seems to view the spirit apartment, where the spirits are all living together, as a paradise. She’s often busy with work and lives in separate idol housing, which in a certain sense is a relief for the other spirits. She can manifest the Angel Gabriel.
Natsumi: Ayumi Mano
A spirit that possesses the power to transform herself into any form she chooses. She can also transform other people and objects into various forms. She has a negative personality and is self-loathing. This compliments her unusual ability in which she amplifies her negative emotions in order to use her powers. Shido acknowledges her as a friend, but she can’t be completely honest with him. Yoshino is the only person she adores like an angel. She can manifest the Angel Haniel.
