Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu Introduction and Story

Hitori Bocchi isn’t your normal school girl as she has rather severe social anxiety that makes it difficult for her to talk to others. It’s so bad that her one and only friend, Kai, will not talk to her again until she befriends all of her new classmates. Determined to talk to Kai again, Hitori is going to have to tolerate all of the vomiting, leg cramps, and tears that come with her social anxiety to make new friends with her classmates.

Why You Should Watch Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu

1. Cast of Characters

Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu is a great anime with a wonderful cast of different characters. Think of it like Anne Happy where it’s such a hodgepodge of different characters who get along so well, especially starting with the unlikely yankee character, Sunao Nako. You’ll get a few laughs out of each of them in no time.

2. A Bit of Relatability

Sometimes, slice of life is so relatable that it hurts, but with Hitoribocchi, it makes us crack up. OK, maybe not everyone will relate to Hitori, but we sure did. We completely understood how her mind works as she channels through all of her anxious fantasies that are so far from reality, we found ourselves cracking up. It’s so funny to see it all on screen.

3. Heartwarming

Honestly, the relationships that Hitori builds in the anime and her interactions with the other characters is so heartwarming; it makes it such a great reason to watch this anime. It’s the growth that we see in Hitori that really makes it worthwhile. Sure, it’s not an anime with real depth, but we enjoyed seeing Hitori’s struggles in all of their glory.

Why You Should Skip Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu

1. Lacking in Depth

For the most part, Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu is lacking in depth. Outside of Hitori, the other characters don’t really have anything that makes them click. Why does Nako look like a yankee? Why is Aru so unfortunate? Then there’s Sotca who is completely ninja obsessed. These three characters don’t even have any real relationships with each other other than the teasing and some conversations. Most of the characters revolve around Hitori and that’s it.
